"May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't."
- George PattonIt was around 7:30 AM when you finally arrived at the bureau, your black heeled boots clanking against the floor with every step. It wasn't normal for you to be this early, but you thought why not have a fresh start since it was now beginning the month of October. It was also just nice to have some time to settle in at your desk before everyone arrived in the morning.
You pushed open the glass doors and began walking over to your desk. You set your go bag on the table and placed your phone right next to it. After settling in, you turned to notice Spencer sitting at his desk across from yours. Spencer was one for being here early, but you never knew when he arrived since you always got there later.
"Hey Spence, what are you reading?" you asked while taking a seat on the edge of his desk, eager to start a conversation to distract yourself from the mounds of paperwork you had to start.
"It's called 'In Cold Blood' by Truman Capote, have you heard of it?" he spoke, not bothering to look up from the pages.
You let out a lighthearted sigh before speaking. "No, but I'm assuming it's something very smart and I would probably have a heart attack if I tried to read it."
"Eh, based on what we do for work and how much information we process in a day, it's nothing you couldn't handle, Y/N."
"Oh, well why thank you doctor." you said, earning a smile from him.
He always liked when people called him doctor, nobody ever really knew why, but you just assumed it made him feel smarter.
You gave him a final smile before returning to your desk to start your first pile of paperwork for the day. It was about a recent case you had involving three unsubs kidnapping children in order to add to their "family". You only had to add a few minor details, but to you it felt like mounds of work. Time had passed quickly however, as everyone was now starting to pile into the office.
"Hey gorgeous girl." Morgan said while sitting down at his desk just next to yours.
Morgan had on a cream long sleeve that he rolled up to stop at the bends of his elbows. He had a pair of matching dark grey pants, but other than that his outfit was pretty simple.
"Hey hot stuff." you replied shooting him a smile.
Just like Garcia, you and Derek both had a flirtatious friendship and would commonly talk like a couple that was horny 24/7. Some people believed it was weird for two friends to talk to eachother like that, but to the two of you it wasn't because you guys were quite close and knew exactly how to match the others flirty energy.
"So, did my girl get any action this weekend?" Morgan asked with an eager smile.
"Sadly no, I decided to stay home for once in my career." you replied.
"Interesting, Y/L/N at home all weekend, be careful something bad might happen soon." He uttered while playfully scratching his head.
"Oh shut up!" you laughed out.

Emily was the last to arrive so you decided to go talk to her and bring a coffee as she looked like she clearly hadn't got any sleep. You removed yourself from your desk and headed over to the coffee maker to start a fresh pot.
