"Only enemies speak the truth; friends and lovers lie endlessly, caught in the web of duty."
- Stephen King

It had been what felt like a month since Hotch and I had sex. Well, looking back on it I wouldn't say we had sex. Nothing about it shared the loving intimacy that was sex, it was more of just. . .fucking, if I were to be completely honest with myself. Whatever it was, I still found myself embarrassingly yearning for the way he touched me.

Somehow, during the painfully slow duration that was the two weeks, Hotch had done everything in his power to ignore me. If we were walking down the same hallway, Hotch wouldn't give me his usual snarky glance, instead he'd just ignore my existence. It got so bad to the point where I had to get Spencer to take my files in for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that his insufferable ass was ignoring me, but part of me felt more enraged by the fact that he was treating me like I was just his pleasurable play toy that he could dispose of whenever he wanted.

I found myself shaken away from my bitter thoughts from the text that vibrated my phone this morning, telling me we had a new case. Lucky for me it was in Washington, d.c. so I was confident it wouldn't take my team and I long to solve.

I unlocked the car door, stepping out from the drivers seat as I made my way to the large Mall entrance doors. I felt the captivating smell of crowded scents and buttery mall pretzels as we stepped in.

Myself, along with the rest of my team's pace, was fast and heavy as we found ourselves positioned in-front of a few members from the Washington, D.C. police department.

"Detective James." Hotch spoke.

"Agents, I'm so glad you're here. We've been on lockdown for almost twenty minutes." The head detective said, reaching out to shake Hotch's hand. "My team's working the best they can now."

"Another female," Emily previewed, "The same age, same time of day, taken from primarily the same location." She was referring to a previous killing that unfortunately happened to a young girl, Jessica Davis, the week before. I believed that the cases were connected, especially with so many similarities between victims and M.O.

"What makes you believe that Katie Jacob's still in this mall?" Morgan asked.

"The surveillance footage from every entrance and exit that surrounds this building only depicts Katie entering the building, not leaving," Detective James replied. "Katie's been paged over the intercom several times and the initial sweep we'd done came up empty."

I took my phone out of my pocket as I felt a vibration come from it. It was only a text from my sister, Ashley, but I still opened my phone to check it.

"Whoever killed Jessica Davis left the mall because he wanted time with her, but in privacy." Spencer said, approaching from behind Emily, his hands finding there way to be snug in his pockets as he slowly lifted himself up to his toes while he spoke.

"Assuming it's the same unsub, he wouldn't tare from his original M.O., he's not leaving here without his victim." Hotch added, smoothly.

"If Katie is still under this roof, so is her abductor." I said, returning my phone to my pocket.

"That means whoever is responsible for both Jessica Davis' murder and Katie Jacob's abduction is locked in with us." JJ spoke.
