"I also came to realize that if people could make me angry they could control me. Why should I give someone else such power over my life?"
- Ben Carson

God he's such a cunt.

"Hmm, I don't think I do sir, please enlighten me, what do you mean?" You said in a testing tone.

Testing Hotch with his authority is something most people except for you, Morgan, and Rossi, wouldn't even dare to do. Hotch had this unexplainable power over everybody. Not just because he was the unit chief, but also just him as a person. He could do so much as walk into a room and everybody's attention would shift to him.

"Not now and not here agent Y/L/N." He spoke with a low but assertive voice.

"Yeah, whatever." you mumbled.

Morgan looked at you from next to Hotch raising an eyebrow hinting at you to shut up before things get worse for you later. Luckily Hotch didn't hear what you had just said and continued to look through the files quietly in front of you until we landed.

—----------------------------------------------------------

Once you all landed the first thing you all did was head for the SUV's. Hotch had of course picked the one farthest from the landing pad so you had quite the walk. Quickly you noticed the significant heat change. Going from October in Quantico Virginia to sunny Los Angeles was certainly not an easy adjustment. You decided to take off the suit jacket you had on to reveal your white fitted button up and unbutton the first two buttons.

Rossi and Hotch were relatively farther in front of you talking about god knows what, probably the case, the team, whatever it was, you couldn't hear it. They were always so secretive when they talked. You always wanted to know what they truly talked about other than cases. Their conversation had come to a stop when Rossi made it to his SUV with Morgan and Emily already inside, leaving just the two of you. It wasn't that much farther than the one reserved for you and Hotch, but without saying it you guys both chose to not talk the remainder of the way over.

Walking around the front of the car you attempted to open the driver's seat door when you were stopped by Hotch moving you out the way and getting inside.

"Come on Hotch I can drive, I'm thirty-six years old." You said nearly rolling your eyes.

"Yeah? Well, you can drive when you finally learn to behave yourself." He spoke while closing the door.

"You're such an asshole." You sighed out walking over to the passenger side.

A few minutes had gone by of complete silence between the two of you. It was awkward. The tension was high and neither one of you were going to break the silence. You just hoped that the scene wasn't too far so you wouldn't have to go through this for any longer.

You glanced at the radio. Normally, you weren't really supposed to play music while driving on a case but why not now? I mean come on we're only going to the crime scene, what was going to happen after just landing? Without hesitation you turned it on. Buttons by The Pussycat Dolls was on. That was practically you and Morgan's club song at the moment.

You began to quietly hum the song as you turned towards the window. You watched the cars pass as you bopped danced slightly to the music.

"Turn it off, Y/N." Hotch spoke sternly, not looking away from the road.

You didn't say anything back. You just kept humming along and looking out the window as if you didn't hear him, which clearly, you did.

"I said, turn it off." Hotch's voice was now stone cold.
