                                                                 Chapter Eight: Auditions

"This place is so beautiful" Alessia spoke softly to herself as she pondered around through the trees and came to a clearing of a field full of many different colored flowers. "Is this the spirit world?" Asking herself before coming out into the clearing.
"Choose.." A voice spoke out.
"Choose what?" Alessia's voice rang out. She looked around and was still surrounded by flowers in a field. The floral smell was overwhelming to the point it felt like it was fogging up her mind. Spirits were dancing nearby, unaware of her presence.
"You must choose." The voice spoke again.
"I don't understand! What do you mean?" Alessia called out. Wincing as the mark upon her wrist burned. Grabbing her wrist as she fell to her knees and looked upon her mark. It was red and fading.
"No! Stop!" She cried out as a shadowy figure came into view in front of her.
"Choose or lose it all." The voice demanded while it raised a shadow finger at Alessia's wrist. The spirits finally noticed her from the shouting. They began to turn dark from the negative emotions caused by Alessia before fleeing the scene. The flowers began to growl and grow all around her.
"What do you mean choose?" She cried out again. The flowers began to whirl around her. The wind picked up pace as she was engulfed into an unseen tornado. "Stop! I don't understand! Please! I need answers!" She shouted before she was flung high in the air from the wind and landed into a nearby pool of water. She was sinking further down. Struggling to swim back to the surface.
"Choose!" The voice shouted again. Her scream was only silenced by the water.

Alessia jumped up while sweating and quickly looked at her wrist. The earth symbol was still there clear as day. There was no burning sensation coming from it. Sighing a small relief before standing up. She was drenched in cold sweat. She had another session with Kya soon. Grabbing a towel and a change of clothes, she left her room and went down to the showers. Hearing voices laughing and chatting away in the dining room. She shrugged it off and went about her way. Entering one of the stalls and locking it. Letting the hot water sear down her body with its heat. Sighing a relief, Alessia closed her eyes, trying to make sense of what the dream was about. What did it mean by choose? Did she have to make a choice that would change something about her? Pushing the thoughts to the back of her mind as she sudded up her hair before rising. Once clean, she water bended out the water from her hair before dressing. Humming softly while brushing her hair and placing it back into a braid. Smiling at her results from not using a mirror. Maybe after ten plus some years of practice and plus doing her friend's hair gave her muscle memories. Hearing some of the air acolytes entering the shower room as she grabbed her stuff and left the hall. Setting her things back into her room before deciding it was time to see Kya.

"Alessia. How are you?" Kya asked in her usual kind voice with a smile. She returned the smile to the blue eyed healer before taking her seat on the bed. Feeling the cool sensation upon her throat again. Alessia had pulled out her book to write;
"Why use healing if nothing is wrong?"
"It's to make sure there isn't any scar tissue build up in the wrong areas since you aren't talking." Kya explained as Alessia raised a brow before nodding. "Now, come. Try saying your name." The healer spoke.
"A...Ales.." Alessia started coughing before taking a deep breath.
"It'll take getting used to. Since the only thing you use that mouth for is eating." Kya chuckled as Alessia facepalmed. Shaking her head and rolling her eyes before writing;
"What are you implying?"
"Oh nothing dear. Can't I make a joke?" Kya spoke while cleaning up her things.
"Suuuure" Alessia wasn't convinced at this but shrugged it off. Thinking it had meant nothing but a joke like Kya had said. "Try again. This time, try saying your friend's name."
"K..Kuvi.." The word was caught in her throat and shook her head.
"You miss her huh?" Kya asked as Alessia nodded her head. "Truthfully, I've never met someone who misses someone they've only known for a few years."
"Try ten some years." Alessia wrote.
"Why don't you write to her?" Kya suggested. Alessia's eyes had widened. Why didn't she think of that?! She hugged Kya before making a dash out of the room.
