Chapter Ten
(Some mature content!)Alessia was up early this morning after the events that had happened a few days ago. She stayed on the island and didn't dare to leave. Except when she had to dance of course. It was one of the things she would sneak out to do. Korra however was still trying to get her airbending to work along with working with Mako and Bolin on the pro bending matches. She would always find herself watching in awe at her sister's power with their friends at training or when it came to Tenzin teaching her about control. Korra was just a plain hothead.
"Come on, be a leaf." Meelo spoke as Korra grunted. She had given up and left. Alessia however walked over and smiled.
"Wanna give it a go?" Meelo asked as she nodded. Watching the youngest air bender respin the gates with ease. Alessia took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Stomping her foot once to read the earth. He could see clearly as she stepped inside the spinning gates. Feeling the air rush around her as she turned and dodged gates. The dancer came out of her as she moved gracefully from one side to the other without a single hit.
"That was amazing! Good job!" Meelo shouted as Alessia smiled and bowed to him. Watching the young boy shout and run off with his arms up like an airplane. She chuckled lightly before grabbing her book and went inside.Seeing a man grumble while holding up a large basket full of gifts and he sat it down.
"Tell Tarrlok I said no!" Korra shouted while sending the poor man flying off the island and into the water. Alessia glared at her sister who shrugged and walked off.
"Korra. You cannot be sending people in the air. Also, Tarrlok is holding a gala in your name. Alessia is to make an appearance as well." Tenzin spoke. Alessia shook her head and sighed. Looks like she would be wearing something fancy after all. Rolling her eyes at the thought. She saw Pema walking down the hall and smiled at her.
"You need help finding an outfit don't you?" Pema asked as Alessia nodded her head. "Come. I'll take you into the city and find you something cute." The lady smiled and led Alessia away to the ferry. Inhaling the air with a smile as they arrived. The ferry was short. Pema gently took Alessia's arm and pulled her away to a nearby shop. 'Earth Nation's Greatest!' Signs were bright and everywhere. Once inside, Alessia gasped and smiled. There was Earth Kingdom clothing everywhere!
"I figured you wanted something from your roots." Pema spoke as Alessia nodded. She settled for a dark green dress that flowed down to her knees. The top part was a corset like fashion and thin noodle straps. The dress did sparkle a little in the light.
"Ooh, that's beautiful!" Pema spoke with a smile. Alessia blushed and waved her hand. Picking out dark green flats that matched her outfit. Once they had finished paying and left, they decided to head back to the island to get ready. They had made it back to the island and Alessia had taken a shower before heading back to her room. Hearing a knock, she answered it. Korra was awkwardly standing in the door.
"Hey Lessy. You have time to do my hair?" Korra asked. 'Lessy?' She hated that nickname. She sighed and nodded. Pulling her sister into her room and pulling out her brush. "Whoa! Is this the dress you're wearing?" Korra asked as she put the dress up to her shoulder. Alessia nodded with a smile. "If anything, I say you're trying to impress someone." Korra chuckled as Alessia rolled her eyes. She sat her sister down in a chair and started brushing her hair. Smiling softly while doing twists and braids before putting it up Smiling at her handiwork before braiding up her own hair.
"This looks amazing. Thank you." Korra hugged Alessia who nodded with a smile. Watching her sister leave as she got changed into her outfit. Taking a look in the mirror and smiling. It made her feel like she was back in Zaofu. Feeling her eyes sting at the thoughts before taking a deep breath. She pulled out an eyeliner she had gotten a few days ago. Applying it to her eyes like she was taught several years ago by her best friend before they had gotten scolded by Su. Once finished, she put it away and grabbed her wallet. Tucking it into her dress pocket. Yes, this dress had pockets and it made her smile. It was a small thing but even little things made people smile. Grabbing her book before leaving her room to find Korra.
