                                                                        Chapter Nine: Bending gone

After hearing Korra joined the Fire Ferrets, Alessia couldn't help but smile at this. Watching her sister get up early in the morning to go train with them at the gym. Alessia used this time to either meditate or practice her bending or dance. Today, she was busy working on her metalbending with the cables Lin had given her to work with. They were old but still worked well. Using both of her arms and flicking it above her head as the cables followed. Grabbing a hold of the side of the lighthouse and yanking herself up in the air. She could feel the rush of the wind as it whipped through her hair. Feeling the rush of adrenaline as the flying was only for a short minute. This was definitely something she could see herself doing. She could easily move around more freely and faster this way. Zipping the cables back up with a simple flick of her wrists and smiled. Once her heart stopped racing, Alessia was now going through the movements Lin had taught her. Using her actual bending this time. Amazed at the progress, Alessia decided she was done for now. Knowing Korra, Mako, and Bolin were probably off somewhere doing who knows what. Working on her stretches and her balance while looking behind her as she felt a pair of eyes. It was Jinora. Alessia smiled and gave the young girl a bow.
"You seem to be doing well since you came here." Jinora spoke as she jumped high in the air and landed softly upon the edge of a bench. She was showing off. Alessia nodded and smiled lightly at her again. "It must be hard." Jinora added. Raising a brow in question.
"With everything going on. You seem so calm. Why is that?" The girl asked as Alessia sat next to her and opened her book.
"If it is something that I cannot control, I don't stress about it. I usually wait until the events unfold. I can only go with the flow of it." Alessia explained as Jinora nodded her head.
"Hey, I wanna teach you an airbending move. It's like a dance." Jinora bounced up and started. Alessia was watching the young girl before she followed suit. It was odd. Learning a move from airbending. Though, it felt a bit freeing. How easily they moved on their footwork. They way their arms flowed around them as they moved in circles around each other. Alessia laughed lightly as they both sat down catching their breaths.
"Thank you." Alessia wrote to Jinora who nodded and gave her a hug. Alessia was tense for a moment before returning the hug lightly.
"Alessia!" Korra's voice shouted. There was fear in her tone. Alessia hopped up and looked at Korra. "It's Bolin! He is missing!" Korra added as Alessia ran after Korra as they made their way to the ferry. Naga followed them as well.

"Where was the last time you saw him?" Korra asked Mako as they met up by the fountain in the center of the town.
"We were talking about the money for the tournament and some kid said he was here last." Mako spoke while rubbing the back of his neck and sighed. Alessia was looking around the area and tabbed Korra's shoulder.
"Wha?" She asked as Alessia pointed to a kid hiding behind a statue. He was constantly looking over at them. It was now dark outside and the city still seemed very much alive.
"Have you seen anything, kid?" Mako asked him.
"My memory is a little foggy." The boy spoke as he walked up to them. "Maybe you can help clear it up." He added as Alessia scoffed. Mako handed the kid a few yuans.
"You're good, Skoochy. A real pro." Mako spoke. Rolling her eyes at this before looking around again. The kid Skoochy finally spoke up and told them what happened.
"Shady Shin showed up and flashed some serious cash." Skoochy whispered as her eyes went wide. No wonder Bolin left to go do this shady job! He needed the money. She frowned at her friend's idiocy . The kid ran off.
"What's that about?" Korra asked.
"Sounds like a turf war is brewing and Bolin is about to get caught in the middle." Mako explained as Alessia gasped.
"Maybe we should tell the police!" She wrote and showed Mako.
"No. They won't do anything unless actual people get hurt." He added as Alessia sighed.
"Then, I guess it's up to us?" She asked as Korra crossed her arms.
"Yep." Mako added as they left the area. She couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched.
