Y/N's POV
After a bit of biking, we ended up downtown. Richie walked off from the group and messed with one of the marching band members. The rest of us looked at a missing person poster that was put up in the alleyway. We were talking about while Bill pulled the paper down a bit and saw another one."It's l-like she's been f-forgotten because Corcoran's missing," Bill said in a saddened tone.
"Will it ever end," Stan asked. While Eddie & Richie came back to the group with ice cream cones.
"What are you guys talking about," Eddie asked.
"What they always talk about," Richie told him.
"I actually think it will end," Ben said, "for a little while, at least."
"What do you mean," Beverly asked him.
"So I was going over all my Derry research and I charted out all the big events. The ironworks explosion in 1908. The Bradley gang in '35. And the black spot in '62. And now the kids being... I realized this stuff seems to happen..."
"Every 27 years," Bill interrupted.
We ended up sitting down after realizing this and were just thinking. "Okay so let me get this straight. It comes out from wherever to eat kids for like a year? And then what? It just goes into hibernation," Eddie asked.
"Maybe it's like... what do you call it? Cicadas. Y'know the bugs that comes out once every 17 years," Stan says.
"My dad used to say this town was cursed," Mike said, "he said that all the bad things that happen in this town are because of one thing. An evil thing that feeds off the people of Derry. That's why he wanted us to move."
"But it can't be one thing," Stan exclaimed, "we all saw something different!"
"Maybe. Or maybe it knows what scares us and that's what we see."
"I-I saw a leper," Eddie told us, "he was like a walking infection."
"But you didn't. Because it isn't real. None of this is. Not Eddie's leper, or Bill seeing Georgie, or the woman I keep seeing," Stan said stressing about it.
"She hot," Richie joked.
"No, Richie. She's not hot," Stan snapped at him, "her face is all messed up! None of this makes any sense! They're all like bad dreams."
"I don't think so. I know the difference between a bad dream and real life," Mike told us.
"What'd you see? You saw something too?"
"Yes," he said, "do you guys know that burned down house on Harris Avenue? I was inside it when it burned down. Before I was rescued, my mom and dad were trapped in the next room over from me. They survived the fire like me, but the experience was terrible. They were pushing and pounding on the door... trying to get to me."
"What are you afraid of Y/N," Richie asked.
"A few things but the main ones are people thinking I'm too childish because of how I act and dress. Other than that, it's being alone, forgotten, and not being loved."
"That's deep," Richie ended up saying.
"What are you afraid of, Richie," I asked him.
He turned around towards the festival and clowns behind him, "clowns."
