3rd Person POV:

~June 1985~

Wendy sat outside the brand-new Starcourt Mall with the rest of the party, minus Dustin who was at a summer camp, waiting for Mike. She was already mad because he was late, but the heat of summer was starting to get to her. It doesn't help that she is wearing a loose long-sleeved shirt, shorts, and a backpack full of snacks.

"He's taking forever!" Wendy complained.

"If we miss this movie, I swear-" Max complained as well.

"Oh, there he is!" Lucas pointed, seeing Mike biking to them.

"Finally!" Will said as Mike quickly dismounted his bike.

"I'm sorry, I got caught up!" Mike excused.

"We've been waiting forever!" Wendy said.

"Well, I'm here now, so let's go!" Mike said, all of them quickly running inside the air-conditioned mall.

The party ran to Scoops Ahoy, where Steve was working. Mike continuously rang the bell at the counter.

"Hey dingus, your children are here!" Robin, Steve's co-worker that Wendy thinks is absolutely cool, said. "Hey, Wendy."

"Hi, Robin," Wendy waved.

Steve pulled open the small window doors, looking at the party in annoyance.

"Seriously?" Steve asked.

Mike rang the bell again.

Steve let them in through the back door of Scoops Ahoy.

"I swear if anyone finds out about this-"

"We're dead!" The party laughed in unison.

"Wendy, are you seriously wearing that?" Steve noticed Wendy's shirt. "It's gotta be, like, 90 degrees outside."

"I'm fine, don't worry about it!" Wendy waved off, running down the hallways to the movie theater.

They all finally made it to the theater room that was showing Day of the Dead, quickly sneaking in and finding empty seats.

"Oh, just in time," Max said quietly in excitement as the lights dimmed.

"Wendy, pass Will and me the M&M's," Mike whispered over his friends to Wendy, who was sitting at the end of the line. Wendy gave him a short glare. Mike rolled his eyes. "Please?"

Wendy nodded in satisfaction and opened her backpack, taking out the M&M's and having the others pass the box to Mike and Will.

"Pass the Reese's Pieces, please," Lucas whispered over Max. Wendy passed him the candy box.

"You got the Fun Dip, right?" Max asked Wendy. Wendy passed the many packets of Fun Dip, the redheaded girl taking them with a bright smile of thanks.

Wendy took out a bag of Pixy Stix, put her backpack by her feet, and tried to relax in her seat. Wendy didn't go to the movies much, preferring to watch movies in her own house because she could control the volume of the movie, she couldn't do that in a movie theater. But she'll deal with it if it means spending time with her friends.

Just before the movie started, the power went out. Shouts of angered people caused Wendy to wince slightly. But, after a minute, the power came back on and the movie continued. Wendy once again winced at the loud cheering and sunk a bit more in her seat.

The horror movie continued on, Wendy cringing at the loud screams from the loudspeakers. She decided about halfway through the movie that she'd had enough, she couldn't take the loud noises anymore.
