3rd Person POV:

~Spring 1986~

Wendy sat in the back of Steve's car, Robin in the passenger seat, while Steve drove them to school. Her head lolled forward and back a few times, her eyes blinking tiredly. She didn't get much sleep last night after coming home from a study session with Max, weird dreams.

"Do you know who pauses Fast Times at 53 minutes and 5 seconds?!" Steve asked.

"People who like boobies," Wendy sighed tiredly.

"People who like boobies!" Steve agreed.

"Ew, gross, do not say 'boobies'!" Robin gagged.

"It's not a big deal!" Steve argued. "I like boobies, you like boobies..Vickie likes boobies, definitely!"

"Can we not talk about boobies in front of your little sister?" Robin asked.

"I don't mind," Wendy yawned. "Boobies are a part of the human body, such as my own, so I don't mind talking about them."

"Wendy, do you happen to like boobies?" Steve asked, purposely saying 'boobies' in a way to annoy Robin further.

"Well..I like my own, so I guess so," Wendy furrowed her brows.

"He doesn't mean it like that, but ignore him," Robin chuckled, turning her head to look at Wendy in the backseat. "If you happen to like them or not, don't worry, you have plenty of time to figure yourself out."

"Cool," Wendy muttered, playing with the feather plume from Robin's marching band hat. She had a small flashback from when she visited Will and El in California for Christmas.

Wendy stood with Will in the dining room, helping him clean up the game they all played, Scrabble, from the table while Joyce and El washed and dried the dishes.

"Can we talk about something really quick?" Wendy asked Will in a whisper.

"Uh, yeah, sure," Will nodded, a bit concerned about why Wendy chose to whisper to him. Why doesn't she want Joyce and El to hear?

"Um, it's just I have these..feelings for someone, but I don't know if I should," Wendy muttered, sweeping up some letters in her hand and just holding them.

"You have a crush?" Will asked quietly. Wendy nodded.

"I guess," Wendy said. "But it feels..wrong."

"I think I know how you feel," Will said quietly.

Wendy looked up at him, both sharing an unsaid understanding.

"I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours?" Will suggested.

"Wanna spell it?" Wendy asked, holding up the letter pieces. Will nodded at the suggestion, the both of them standing next to each other and finding the appropriate letters.

"Same time, ready?" Will asked, Wendy nodding.

The two of them placed the letters down on the table, spelling out the names.

They both took in a deep breath as they read the names.

"I think this just got a bit complicated," Wendy said, looking up at Will.

"Yeah," Will agreed with a small laugh.

"You two are a bit too quiet in there!" Joyce called out from the kitchen. Will and Wendy looked up to see the two girls smiling at them from the kitchen sink and counter. "Whatcha doin'?"
