3rd Person POV:

Wendy, Dustin, and Mike strolled around the woods after Mike's failed attempt to reconcile with Lucas. The three of them are now looking for El.

"Are you even trying to see it from his point of view, Mike?" Wendy asked, kicking away a twig. "I mean, yes, El was trying to look out for our safety, but kind of went about it the wrong way and made herself look suspicious."

"But Lucas won't listen to me!" Mike said.

"And you won't listen to him," Dustin said.

Wendy heard a twig snap in the distance.

"Wait, I heard something," Wendy said.

Mike and Dustin looked in the direction Wendy was looking.

"El?" Mike asked hopefully.

Instead of El, like they hoped, Troy and James came into view.

"Oh shit," Dustin said. "Run!"

The three of them ran as fast as they could away from the two bullies, ending up at the top of Sattler Quarry. They didn't notice that James was coming up from the other side, effectively cornering them.

Troy grabbed Dustin from behind, a switchblade in his head, and held it to Dustin's face.

"Let him go!" Mike said to Troy.

When James tried to make a grab for Wendy, she threw her backpack at him to deter him.

"I don't know how you did it, but I know you did it," Troy said to Wendy.

"Do what!?" Wendy asked in a panic, not knowing what to do.

"Wendy, run!" Dustin said.

"You know what you did!" Troy shouted.

"Let him go!" Wendy said.

"I'll let go..." Troy trailed off, his eyes looking at the cliff before looking at Wendy and Mike again. "If you jump."

"What?" Wendy asked, confused.

"Wait, Troy, seriously?" James asked.

"Both of you jump, or toothless here gets an early trip to the dentist," Troy said.

"Wendy, he means jump in place, l-like jumping jacks," Mike tried to say, but couldn't bring himself to actually do jumping jacks. Normally, Wendy would listen to Mike, but the knife at Dustin's face leads Wendy to believe Troy wants them to jump off the cliff.

"If we do it, you'll let him go?" Wendy asked.

Dustin's pleading fell on deaf ears as Wendy looked at the knife, then at Mike, and then at the edge of the cliff.

"Wendy, he's kidding! He doesn't mean it!" Dustin cried out as Wendy approached the edge of the cliff.

Wendy looked over the edge of the cliff, a sinking feeling in her gut at the height.

"Mike.." Wendy shuddered.

"We'll do it together," Mike whispered, allowing Wendy to hold onto his jacket sleeve.

"Don't do it!" Dustin shouted.

"Do it!" Troy shouted.

Mike and Wendy took deep breaths and jumped off the cliff, a small yelp leaving Wendy's throat. All the boys stood frozen in place before running to the edge, the sight shocking them further. Wendy and Mike were floating

"Uh, guys! I'm not doing this!" Wendy said, looking at Mike in a small panic.

"Me neither!" Mike said.
