Chapter 34

(Y/N) looked at the two rabbits and made a 'hm' sound. "I guess we are." she replied to Thrud's remark. 

Thrud rested a hand on the table and leaned on it, looking at Atreus and (Y/N). "I'm surprised to see you." she said to Atreus. "Where have you been the past few months? I haven't seen you since Ragnarok!"

Atreus recalled the conversation he had with Thrud and her mother, Sif, after Ragnarok. "I've been busy." he half-lied. He wasn't sure if he should tell Thrud and Skjoldr about the mission to find the remaining Giants.

Thrud turned her head towards (Y/N). "Are you one of Loki's friends?" she asked curiously.

(Y/N) glanced at Atreus for some sort of sign. He nodded discreetly in response. "Actually, we're together." (Y/N) said slowly.

This was Skjoldr's first time hearing this as well. "I knew it!" he said loudly, grabbing Atreus's shoulders. "No shit! Why didn't you tell me? I'm like, your best friend, I think. I am your best friend, right?"

Atreus grinned sheepishly. "Yes Skjoldr." he said with a small chuckle, lifting Skjoldr's hands off of his shoulders.

Thrud smiled at Atreus and (Y/N). "Really? Nice job Loki, you pulled a good one." she said playfully, giving him a soft punch to the arm.

(Y/N) took note of how physical Thrud and Skjoldr were with Atreus. She took a moment to process what Thrud said, but went a bit red after realizing.

Atreus laughed lightly, rubbing his arm where Thrud hit him. "Thanks?" His face was bright with happiness, he was glad to be around his friends again. These two kept him sane when he was in Asgard.

Thrud grinned slightly and looked over at (Y/N). "Is he a good kisser?" she asked bluntly.

"...what?" (Y/N) asked back in disbelief. She looked at Atreus and back at Thrud. Atreus looked equally confused and embarrassed. they had only kissed once and it was pretty brief. (Y/N) took what she could from that experience. "Yeah. He's pretty good." (Y/N) said stiffly. It felt so strange saying something like that, out loud, with Atreus standing right next to her.

Thrud smiled cheekily. "Cool, cool." she said, amused to see Atreus in such a state. It was malicious in a way, but that was how their friendship was. "What are you doing here?" she asked Atreus, changing the conversation.

Atreus collected himself before answering. "I wanted to visit you guys. You seem to be doing pretty good with this small town."

"Yeah, it's pretty good." Thrud agreed. "Skjoldr and I make a good team." She nudged the blonde boy with her elbow lightly.

Skjoldr laughed nervously. "Yeah, good team. We are... a good team. Yes." 

(Y/N) let out a stifled laugh at Skjoldr's stupid response. She could tell he liked Thrud, a lot in fact. She wondered if Thrud felt the same way, or if she knew he liked her. If she knew, she was just teasing him at this point.

"How long do you plan to stay?" Thrud wondered, looking at (Y/N).

"Oh, uh... maybe until it gets dark outside?" (Y/N) answered hesitantly, looking over at Atreus. He nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, until sundown." he added supportively.

"Alright... Do you guys wanna do something?" Thrud suggested. "I'm sure the villagers can manage themselves for a few hours."

Skjoldr nodded in agreement. "Yeah! They can work together pretty well." 

Atreus smiled with bright eyes. "What should we do?" he asked, excited to hang out with his friends.
