THANKFULLY CAROLINE BROUGHT ROSIE A PAIR OF SHOES as the brunette was still only wearing the t-shirt she slept in and Stefan's jog bottoms. The three girls made their way through the woods, Rosie and Caroline were arm in arm as Elena carried a heavy, brown bag.

"Tell everyone I wasn't feeling well and I went home from school." Elena said as she struggled with the bag.

"I can't believe I'm agreeing to this. I'm a terrible liar." Caroline replied as she and Rosie followed Elena.

"Yeah, trust me, she's awful. She was supposed to cover for me when I snuck out of the house once to go smoke--" Rosie agreed. "Uh, I mean go for a walk and she practically ratted me out to Mom." She hit Caroline with her elbow which caused the blonde to yelp.

"And keep Stefan busy. I don't want him to know what I'm up to." The brunette doppelganger continued, ignoring the siblings' antics.

"I'm even worse at duplicity and you know this." Caroline added.

However, Elena argued back. "You managed to keep me occupied when Katherine paid Stefan a visit."

"Yeah, because she threatened me. Not that I'm saying that you should use that as a tactic, it's..." Caroline, Rosie and Elena came to a halt. "Stefan's gonna see right through me."

Elena turned around to look at Caroline. "Caroline, as my friend, do you promise or not?"

Caroline sighed. "You had to break out the girlfriend code. Okay. I promise."

Elena turned around and began walking again. "Okay."

After a few seconds, Caroline and Rosie followed after her.

"Why don't you want Stefan to know?" Caroline asked, causing Rosie to roll her eyes at her sister's nosiness.

"Because he would never be okay with me doing this." Elena replied as she made her way to the church ruins' steps.

This time, Caroline and Rosie both let out a sigh as they walked down the stairs after the doppelganger.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" The blonde sister questioned.

"Yes, I'm sure. She's the only one who knows the truth about Klaus. The only one who can tell me how to stop him."

"But you're asking for the truth from someone who's probably never giving it. Are you sure about this?" Caroline asked again, just trying to make sure Elena knew what she was getting herself into.

"Yeah. I can't just sit back and wait. I have to know, Caroline." The three girls turned to look at the tomb door before turning back to look at each other. "Please."

Caroline released her arm from Rosie's and walked to the tomb. Using her vampire strength, Caroline opened the door for Elena before walking back over to Rosie.

"Katherine?" Elena called into the empty tomb. The doppelganger looked at the sisters and said, "I'll be okay from here."

Suddenly, a noise came from inside the tomb, drawing the girls' attention to it. Rosie immediately spotted Katherine limping towards the entrance, staring at them.

"Hello, Elena." Katherine said, her voice was husky and scratchy as she had not drunk blood in a while. "You come to watch me wither away?" The vampire doppelganger looked at the two sisters behind Elena. "Hi, Rosie. Goodbye Caroline."

Elena turned to face Caroline. "As long as I stay on this side of the door, she can't hurt me. Please."

The blonde looked at her sister, shaking her head. "I'm not leaving you here with her."

Rosie smiled and grabbed onto Caroline's hand, squeezing it reassuringly before letting it go. "Don't worry, Care. Granny Kathy can't eat me from over here."

Begrudgingly, Caroline nodded her head and gave her sister a hug before she began to walk up the stairs, out of the church ruins.

"Stefan know you're here?" Katherine asked, still leaning against one of the walls of the tomb.

Elena placed down her heavy bag as Rosie walked closer to the two doppelgangers.

"I brought you some things." The human doppelganger remarked, opening the bag.

" You came to bribe me? What is it that you want?"

Elena threw something towards Katherine and said, "I want you to tell me about Klaus."

A smirk appeared on Katherine's face as she stared at Elena. "Hmm, you've been busy."

The human doppelganger set something else on the floor, Rosie wasn't sure what it was but she did know what the next thing Elena removed out of her bag was; the Petrova family book.

"I also brought you this." Elena added, holding the book. "It's your family history. It says in here that the family line ended with you. Obviously, that's not true."

The smirk dropped from Katherine's face as she listened to Elena. "You think that if you brought me some family keepsake that I'd open up?"

Elena then lifted a bottle of blood from her bag, causing Katherine to race towards the tomb entrance. She tried to get to Elena but she was stopped by the spell.

"You don't look so good. How long before your body shuts down? ten, twenty years? It must be painful to desiccate and mummify. I can't even imagine." Elena taunted, impressing Rosie with her attitude.

Katherine then slid down the wall, causing Elena to crouch down and begin to pour a cup of blood. Rosie moved to sit beside Elena, watching the two interact.

Using a stick, Elena pushed the cup towards Katherine.

Katherine picked up the cup and said, "You have the Petrova fire." Then she downed the cup.

  "More blood?" Elena asked.

The vampire placed the cup on the floor, allowing Elena to use the stick to pull the cup back to her.

"It's a long story, Klaus and I." Katherine began. "It goes all the way back to England, 1492, after I left Bulgaria." Elena filled the cup again and passed it back. Katherine picked the cup back up and spoke again before downing the cup. "Or was thrown out. My family, your true ancestors, they disowned me. My indiscretions were not tolerated at that time. I had a baby out of wedlock. The shame."

Katherine's story made Rosie feel a pang of remorse for the vampire. The hybrid couldn't believe Katherine's own family threw her out just for having a baby.

"It was kept secret?" Elena divulged further, now fully interested in what Katherine had to say.

"Mhmm." Katherine hummed. "My baby was given away. I was banished to England and I had to learn to adjust. So I quickly became English. It was there that I caught the eye of a nobleman named Klaus. I was taken with him at first, til I found out what he was and what he wanted from me. And then I ran like hell."

"Did you get an English accent? Become an annoying bitch too?" Rosie teased, causing the vampire to smile at her. "Oh wait, you already were."

Elena ignored Rosie again and rose to her feet. "So, what did Klaus want?"

"The same thing that he'll want from you. He wants to break the curse." Katherine answered from her place on the tomb floor.

"By sacrificing the Petrova doppelgänger." Elena said, remembering what Rose and Trevor had told her.

"He wanted to drain every single drop of blood from my body." Katherine added, finishing Elena's train of thought.
