5 || Piano

                               A U D R E Y

Wednesday , It was finally the day of the exam , and i was one hundred percent ready to perform my symphony in front of the dozen people who attend professor Marshall 's class

Kayden has been helping me all month non stop , we even exchanged numbers and texted a few times

Jade told me to keep my guard around him , he was in Mia 's circle though

As usual , when I entered the classroom , no one was there yet , except for miss Marshall and some two men putting down the huge piano next to the board , in front of the whole class

This couldn't get any worse

Sooner or later , the students started to show up , Kayden too and he took his seat next to me again ;" are you ready for this ?" He asked me
" just look at me and I'll do just fine " I sarcastically said and he chuckled;" got it"

After everyone was present , miss Marshall started to call out the names , Kayden started first , and as expected , he played Für Elise perfectly and beautifully and professor Marshall praised him

" that was horrible " i murmured when he returned to his seat , that was a joke of course and he got it ;" thank you for your compliment" he said with a smile that showed his dimples

Few students performed after Kayden , and it was finally my turn , once i heard my name , i started to shiver , i took a deep breath before getting up and walking to the piano

I took my seat and brought up my hands to the keys , for a moment i almost even forgot the beginning of it , i was so stressed out and nervous , i took a quick glance over Kayden who nodded at me with a reassurance smile

I smiled back as I surprisingly started to play , i tried to clear my head and forget that everyone was watching me , and i succeeded , i was in an empty white room , just me and the piano , and the symphony

When this is was over , and I performed ' Solas' perfectly fine , i looked up at miss Marshall who was looking at me so brightly and smiley ;" that was a very good symphony Audrey " she said and i thanked her

I walked back to my seat and Kayden was smirking ;" you were amazing " he said and i smiled , with a blush ;" thank you"

After class was over , miss Marshall dismissed us , and on our way out of the classroom i stopped Kayden to talk to him ;" i have to admit , I couldn't do this without you" i said , holding my notebook to my chest with both hands

A cocky smirk appeared on his face and i knew where this was going ;" well i am a wonderful teacher " he grinned as he leaned closer and I couldn't help but to chuckle

" if you need help with anything , I'm here for it , if you want" i shrugged , trying to sound unserious about my proposition . He raised his eyebrow as he stared deeply at me ;" anything?" He asked and i hummed

" then how about that dinner ?" He asked and i narrowed my eyes at him ;" why are you insisting on that ?" I asked ;" it's your way of repaying me for the piano lessons " he stated and my eyes widened as i got super confused

" hello ? Piano lessons were you repaying for the article favor  " i said to him and he shake his head
;" actually the article was a necessary act from you so you could get the full mark , it wasn't to benefit me , piano lessons on the other hand , i had to skip trainings to teach you " he explained with a funny expression on his face that made me laugh

" fine fine i get it , i'll go to that stupid dinner with you " i said as i began to walk away ;" I'll send you the details " he said

" but don't expect a fancy dress and make up" i added as i turned to him , pointing my finger out and he laughed ;" don't expect a suit " he answered ;" oh please don't " i said and he chuckled again

" dinner ? DINNER ? Is that your way you two avoid the word ' date ?' " Jade asked , jumping our of her bed and joining me on mine

" it's not a date Jade , we don't like each other , even if we do it's not that way " i said and she hummed ;" well he did give you piano lessons for a month , that doesn't sound like Kayden Adams , oh I wonder how Mia feels about this ? "  she asked and I remembered the day he told me she wasn't his girlfriend anymore

And that they had some kind of deal

" deal ? What kind of deal?" Jade asked after i told her everything about it ;" i don't Know , we were interrupted before he could finish , and then we never talked about it again " i said

" Mia Lopez and Kayden Adams are finally broken up , it's definitely the apocalypse " Jade said and we laughed ;" how are things between you and Jacob ?" I asked her

" who's Jacob ?" She asked back and i raised my eyebrow at her ;" he's still trying to win me back and I'm still making it harder for him " she stated
" give him a break " i told her and she hit me with her shoulder ;" stop taking his side !" She exclaimed ;" I'm not !" I denied

Suddenly my phone buzzed and i picked it up to find a text message for Kayden ;" would you look at that , let me guess you're gonna talk about your upcoming dinner ?" She said and focused on the word ' dinner '

" anyway goodnight , i have a test tomorrow " she said as she got off of my bed and went to hers
;" night" i said and she drifted off to sleep

I opened my phone to read Kayden's message

Kayden : how about Saturday ? Is it good ?

Audrey : no , i work on Saturday, then i hang out with Jade , Sunday is better

Kayden : where do you work?

Audrey : none of your business

Kayden : cmon tell me

Audrey : no

Kayden : fine , I'll find out later

Audrey : how ?

Kayden : a gentleman never tells

Audrey : gentleman doesn't suit you

Kayden : you'll get used to it , any particular place you wanna go to on Sunday ?

Audrey : i have a restaurant on mind , deal ?

Kayden : where is it ?

Audrey : across the Sweet dreams bakery

Kayden : got it , what time should i pick you ?

Audrey : don't even think about it , I'll meet you there at 9

Kayden : okay then , it's a date

Audrey : no it's not

Kayden : whatever you say , love

Audrey : gn Kayden

And with that , I turned off my phone not wanting to read his reply , although I'd love to , it's like he had honey in his words , and " love ?" Seriously?
