Chapter Three

Xavier, that was his name, showed me around his house which looked more like a dark castle from a princess movie than a suburban house. He told me that since I don't deserve a room yet, he hasn't prepared one for me, therefore, I'll be sleeping with him. To which I said I'd rather sleep chained in silver in that cage. He reminded me that he could just order me to do so, but was kind enough to leave this choice to me. The whole time I followed him around, my tail would slap the ground or the walls next to us in annoyance and Xavier loved it too. Instead of calling me Kitsune or Catherine, he said I gave him a better idea and now this monster is calling me a pet. A freaking pet. Like I don't have feelings, thoughts, or whatever else that differentiates me from a dog.

He showed me where he sleeps, showed me where his guests usually sleep and then we got back to the cage.

"Well, since you don't want to share a room with me, in you go" he waved his hand while holding the cage gates open. He was kind enough to take the chains out of there.

I bent down to crawl in but Xavier had the audacity to pet my tail to which I replied by turning around instantly and grabbing him by his throat.

"Don't ever touch my tail" I said with a voice that in my mind sounded super aggressive.

I could see he was taken by surprise, but then the blue eyes went dark and his fangs came out. I couldn't even understand how quickly he got his fingers around my neck, slammed me into a wall, and lifted me from the ground. I'm pretty sure I heard a growl as well, but it might have been my ears ringing.

"Don't even threaten me, pet. You are my property and if you disobey, there will be consequences."

Xavier's voice sounded very different from the one before. Before I could tell he was having fun. Right now? I wanted to be buried in the wall behind my back so I wouldn't need to listen to this voice.

"Let...me...go..." I tried kicking, gasping for air.

Another second and his fingers disappeared from my neck. Instead, they appeared in my hair and yanked my neck to the side, opening it for a bite. I didn't even have time to protest before his fangs sank into my skin. I screamed in pain, but his tight grip didn't let me fight back unless I wanted to have my neck ripped off.

When he got off of me, I sank to the ground and pressed on the wound with my palm. Both of us were breathing heavily and I knew that it took him some will to stop feeding. My blood to a vampire was like the sweetest candy for a child.

"Please, master" I whispered, feeling tears coming down my cheeks. "Please never touch my tail or my ears and I promise I will obey voluntarily."

Xavier kneeled while wiping a blood drop from the corner of his mouth and looked at my face.

"Why? Why is it so important?"

"My tail and ears to me are like your fangs to you. You wouldn't want anyone near them, would you?" I asked, trying to contain my shaking voice.

"...fine" I heard after a moment.

I heard myself sighing in relief and I crawled into a cage which he closed as soon as all of me was in it. Without another word, he left me alone in a hall and went upstairs. I let myself cry for a few minutes, but after that, it turned to a long sob, which I hoped he didn't hear. Everything hurt, my pride was mixed with dirt and I had no way out of here. What in the hell's name am I supposed to do now?

<...>

I am pretty sure I annoyed him with my "don't touch my body" request because the next couple of days Xavier didn't even look at me. Whenever he was in a hall, he would just walk past without a word and it was uncomfortable. Not only because I didn't get any attention, but also because he seemed to forget that I am not an undead and I need food and water. I tried, I really tried being as quiet as he was, but at the end of the third day (night, I guess) I couldn't take it anymore.
