The feminine voice came from inside the cabin; her tone was quite flirtatious as she spoke Reginald's name.

From what my mind can tell, this was a woman who I definitely didn't like at all, ever since I knew of her.

Clacking of what I had assumed came from heels tapping the wooden floor, the woman came out of the door and was now before me; her hair was quite long as her make-up was visibly used too much.

I noticed her eyes dart over at Reginald.

"Reginald! You're home!" She exclaimed happily, her expression delighted.

When she was about to approach him, her attention turned towards me, and I looked at her in a dull manner.

Just as I had expected, it was none other than... Her.

Her gleeful attitude was shadowed by an unpleasant one; her eyes were now staring at mine.

She sighed.

"Of course, out of all the people Reginald could bring into this place, it would be none other than you. Why am I even surprised?" she commented as she crossed both of her arms.

"So... What's your business here anyway, Cleo?" she added, her tone as she mentioned my name sounded spiteful.

"Oh, Reginald didn't mention anything to me about owning a dog that barks at his guests; I guess with all the work he's been taking care of lately, he forgot to put a leash on..." I paused as I watched her reaction to my words.

An exasperated look formed on her face.

"Whatever breed this is standing before me." A smirk formed on my lips as I added my last sentence.

She moved immediately and was about to pounce on me when, all of a sudden, Reginald stood between us and used his strength to stop that deranged woman.

" "VICTORIA" QUIT IT!" he pleaded.

"LET ME GO! I'M GOING TO PUMMEL THAT BITCH'S ASS!" She tried to fight and break free from Reginald's hold; unfortunately for her, he was stronger.

I crossed my arms as I ignored her pathetic attempts to jump at me—that was until a man rushed out of the cabin.

He immediately joined and helped Reginald contain Victoria.

"LET GO OF ME!" She resisted.

"NO! YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN VICTORIA!" Reginald commanded her.

Soon enough, after all this drama had unfolded, she got tired, and eventually her muscles loosened up until she couldn't move them anymore.

She passed out after that.

"Man, she's really getting out of hand as time goes by, huh?" The man who helped Reginald commented, a chuckle coming out of his mouth.

"You said it... But I guess she's just not in the mood right now,"  he replied.

Reginald carried Victoria's unconscious body as he proceeded towards the cabin as the other man's attention went to me.

"Hey! Cleo, right?"

He offered his hand for me to shake.

"Hi, you?" I accepted his handshake, but I was still quite apprehensive about who this man was.

"It's been so long, hasn't it, huh? How have you been?" he asked.

"I'm fine, actually. Thank you." I replied. I didn't entertain any more of what he had to say until...
