Season 3, Episode 11
Our Town

Estella tried to forget about last night. She didn't want to admit that it happened, and so she decided to pretend it never did. As of now, she was standing with Amelia and painting another part of her new home.

Although Amelia didn't mind, she was confused as to why Estella was hanging out with her. After all, it was her house and she controlled the hybrids just as much as Klaus did. She couldn't help but question why Estella was doing work when she didn't need to. Klaus certainly wasn't. He was too busy bossing everyone around to help.

"What's on your mind, Mia?" Estella questioned, not looking over but noticing the girl was stuck in her thoughts.

"Nothing." Amelia blushed, focusing back on painting the wall

"Really? I'm sure there's something on your mind because the roller has been dripping paint on your shoes and you haven't complained once." Amelia looked down at her Converse to see them painted white, and she grimaced. They were her favorite pair, and now they were ruined. Besides, she didn't have any other shoes to wear. She wasn't allowed to take anything but necessities when she came here.

"Gross. And these were my only pair." Amelia whined. Estella laughed, keeping in mind to buy Amelia some nice pairs of shoes so she didn't have to walk around in painted Converse.

Klaus came over to the two girls and grabbed Estella's arm, motioning for her to follow him. Estella nodded, dropping the paint roller and giving a small smile to Amelia before walking away with Klaus. When she entered the small area of the house where no hybrids were, she saw Stefan leaning against the wall. She stiffened, looking away from him. She didn't want to see him after what happened after Homecoming.

"I'm surprised you're still here. I gave you your freedom, you could've gone anywhere." Klaus discreetly pushed Estella behind him, knowing she didn't want to see Stefan. Estella squeezed his arm in thanks.

Stefan stared at Estella from behind Klaus. She was trying to pretend he wasn't there, and his heart tightened at the thought. He knew he had betrayed her, and after everyone else had done the same he knew it would hurt her. He just needed to make sure to not feel anything but anger, because if he felt more than that, he would only feel guilt for what he'd done to her.

"I live here, Klaus." Stefan crossed his arms over his chest, tilting his head as if Klaus had said something mind-blowing. He decided he needed to focus his attention on the one person who made him angry so he didn't feel anything else.

"Well, if we're playing this game, then we were here first." He motioned to him and Estella before walking forward and stepping closer to Stefan. Estella stayed where she was, wanting to be as far as possible from the Salvatore.

"You know, I don't like your hybrid friends. They're everywhere. Kind of like fleas. I want them gone." Stefan walked closer to Klaus, and Estella felt like shrinking away. She rolled her eyes at Stefan before walking closer and standing next to Klaus.

"You know who I want gone? You. But sometimes we don't get what we want. Life's a bitch." Estella gave a fake smile to Stefan. Klaus held back a laugh, holding Estella by the arm to tell her to calm down.

"I like having them around. Don't you, Es?" Estella smiled at the thought of Amelia, only nodding her head in agreement.

Stefan walked closer, now in front of Estella instead of Klaus. He stared at her with a fake smile, his eyes showing his anger. Estella stared right back, her light brown eyes staring into Stefan's. It felt like she was staring into his soul, like she could see behind his facade to see the broken man behind it.
