Ghost World

Estella laughed as she ran away from her lover, Lexi, at a human pace. She ran into the woods before she felt her wrist being pulled.

"Lex!" Estella squealed as she pulled her towards her. Her back hit Lexi's front and she felt her hot breath tickle her neck. She felt Lexi move her shirt to kiss her shoulder. She smiled before turning around and pushing her to the ground and running again.

"Hey!" Lexi yelled as she got up quickly and chased after Estella once again, the way she thought it always would be.

"Caroline." Estella answered her phone as she rummaged through a box filled with random things throughout the years.

"I need your help." Caroline said as she looked at Bonnie, who was standing right next to her.

"What is it that you need?" Estella asked as she dropped a frame back into the box and gave her full attention to the blonde.

"Can you meet up with me and Bonnie? I'll text you the details." Caroline asked as she and Bonnie walked towards Matt, who they needed answers from.

"Yeah, sure." Estella answered before taking away the phone from her ear and hanging up, leaving the almost empty box on the floor.

"Elena?" Estella questioned as she walked up to the brunette who was sitting across from Alaric and Jeremy.

"Stella? Is something wrong?" Elena questioned as she saw Estella's face filled with worry.

"Sort of? I'm not exactly sure. Caroline wanted me to meet up with her for something and she told me to meet here. Did she ask you, too?" Estella questioned as she sat in the seat next to Elena.

"No. I was already here. I was trying to figure out how to get Stefan's humanity back on." Elena sighed as she was reminded that Stefan was still off the rails.

"Well, I know Lexi always helped him with that." Estella told her as she too slumped a little into her seat. She didn't like talking about Lexi a lot, but she had gotten over the pain of losing her.

"How do you know that?" Elena questioned.

"I knew Lexi. We were... good friends, so to speak. Because my family and I had to leave every couple of decades because of Mikael, I rarely saw her. Whenever I did she would tell me everything that was going on in her life and I would tell her everything that what was going on in mine." Estella explained as she was reminded of her very close relationship with Lexi.

Of course she wasn't going to tell anyone about her romance with her. She thought it was best if it was kept quiet. Besides, Lexi was long gone, and to Estella she had been gone even before she died.

"Do you know how Lexi got Stefan back?" Elena asked as her eyes lit up with hope.

"No. She never mentioned Stefan's name to me. Only that she had a best friend she wanted me to meet." Estella frowned as she saw Elena slump down in her seat.

"One time, she told me about how her friend's humanity was turned off and how she chained him up, but we never cared much about that conversation." She sighed. They were too busy lost in each other's bodies to think about anything else.
