Third Person POV
Just as the family grappled with their worries, a letter arrived, bearing the distinct seal of the Wen Sect. Their hearts sank as they read the contents. An indoctrination was scheduled to take place, and Wen Rouhan had demanded the presence of all heirs and heiresses from the various clans.
Jiang Fengmian's voice trembled with concern. "How can we endanger our children's lives in such a treacherous situation? And with Wuxian in his current state, attending the indoctrination is even more perilous."
Madam Jiang's eyes welled up with tears, her voice choked with emotion. "We've already witnessed the Wen Sect's brutality. They mercilessly attacked minor clans and even targeted Qinghe and the Lan Clan just a week ago. Thankfully, Wuxian, Wangji, and XiChen were there to assist. But we cannot subject our family to such grave danger."
Jiang Cheng, fueled by determination, spoke up. "We need to gather more information about the indoctrination. If we know what we're up against, we can devise a plan to counter it."
Jiang Yanli nodded in agreement, her eyes shining with resolve. "I can reach out to our contacts in other clans. They may possess valuable information that could aid us."
Jiang Fengmian looked at his children with pride, recognizing the strength and determination in their eyes. "We must also ensure the safety of the other clans. We cannot allow the Wen Sect to continue their reign of terror unchecked."
Madam Jiang added, her voice filled with urgency, "We should also seek assistance from the Lan Sect. Wangji and XiChen might possess insights or resources that could aid us in this dire situation."
"A-Cheng, we must attend the indoctrination," Yanli asserted firmly.
"No, A-Li, it's far too perilous for you to venture into such danger," Madam Jiang replied protectively.
"I will go," Jiang Cheng declared, his resolve unyielding.
"Yes, but not alone. You will be accompanied by some of our most skilled disciples. We cannot allow you to face this ordeal alone," Jiang Fengmian stated with unwavering determination.
The room fell into a heavy silence as the weight of their decision settled upon them. They understood the risks involved, but their unwavering love and determination to protect their family and put an end to the Wen Sect's tyranny pushed them forward.
Cloud Recesses: Lanshi
Lan Qiren, with a heavy heart, handed over the letter to Wangji and XiChen, disclosing the true extent of Wuxian's condition.
XiChen sighed deeply, his gaze filled with concern as he looked at his younger brother. Wangji remained silent, his face a mask of stoicism as he absorbed the contents of the letter.
"He needs us," Wangji finally spoke, his voice tinged with a hint of coldness.
XiChen reached out and placed a comforting hand on Wangji's shoulder. "He may have said he'll be fine, but we know better, don't we? We know him too well."
A mix of frustration and determination flickered in Wangji's eyes. "A-Ying won't be able to handle this alone. Xiongzhang, we've been through this before, and now it's happening again."
They stood up simultaneously, a united front, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Lan Qiren, observing their reactions, couldn't help but feel a sense of bewilderment. He sensed that Wangji and XiChen knew more than they were letting on, that there were hidden layers to Wuxian's situation.
"Wangji, XiChen, is there something you're not telling me?" Lan Qiren asked, his voice filled with curiosity and concern.
