Optimus Prime lay in his own energon. The bright blue liquid pooled beneath him, tainted with wisps of dark purple.
He was chasing after Unicron, and the others found him in this state, evidently beaten and left for dead.
"Oh, Primus," came the collective murmur.
Amalgamous Prime transformed into a pickup truck-like vehicle, and moved Optimus onto the back.

The next thing Optimus knew was waking up with Quintus Prime looming over him, the Emberstone in one of his many hands. The artifact returned the Thirteenth Prime to a fully functional state.
Optimus nodded his thanks to Quintus as he slowly stood up. He was fine.
As he left the medical room, Prima walked up to him.
"Are you fine, my brother?" he asked.
"Yes," Optimus replied.
"Good. We will ask our Creator for advice soon. Unicron has been alive for too long."
Optimus said nothing.
As the two of them entered the Core Chamber, where Primus rests in his tired state as the spherical core of Cybertron, they found the other ten Primes waiting for them. Quintus floated into the room after them.
"One of you will betray me," Primus said once they have all arrived.
The Thirteen looked at one another, but their eyes mostly settled on Megatronus Prime. The warrior of darkness had his eyes fixed on Liege Maximo. No one noticed Optimus Prime shuffling his feet, and his head lowered.
"Be on your guard, Primes," Primus told the Thirteen, then returned to dormancy. "And when the time comes, one of you must sacrifice yourself."
"Well, that was helpful," Megatronus commented sarcastically.
"So are you," someone muttered, prompting Megatronus to glare around the room.
"I would like to search for Unicron," Optimus stated. "I will have my revenge."
"Permission granted, brother," Prima told him. "Do not engage without us."
Optimus nodded and left.
"Solus, spar with me?" Nexus Prime asked, reaching for Solus Prime's hand.
"Solus Prime" started giggling, which turned into full fledged laughter as she turned into Amalgamous Prime.
"I'll get you back," Nexus said, glaring at the Shifter.
"I look forward to it," Amalgamous said, nearly choking with laughter.
"So where is she?"
Amalgamous pointed at the door, where Megatronus and Solus were leaving. They had their weapons out. Evidently, they were going to spar.

A few weeks later...
::I have found him,:: Optimus reported through the comm link.
::Keep him distracted,:: Prima ordered. ::We are coming.::
"They are coming, my lord," Optimus told Unicron.
"Good. Remember to fight me, or they will suspect," the god of chaos answered.
"Or make me unconscious before the battle begins."
Unicron grabbed Optimus by the shoulder and threw him on the ground, then Optimus felt the most excruciating pain in his mind, and when he fell unconscious, he welcomed it.

When the rest of the Thirteen arrived on Amalgamous, they saw Unicron holding his mace above Optimus.
"No!" Prima jumped out of the back, and using Amalgamous's hood as a step, leapt up and swiped the Star Saber across.
"Ow," Amalgamous said.
The arc of rarified energon hit Unicron, throwing him back by a few metres. Unicron charged at the Primes while firing a dark energon blast from his hand.
Solus charged forwards, swinging her Forge. Her hammer activated and connected with the blast, turning it into a stable variety of element 113 which stuck to the hammer's head. She promptly used the reinforced hammer to slam Unicron into a spire, which broke and fell on him.
Unicron roared and stood up, firing a few more dark energon blasts at the Primes. Vector Prime swung one of his Blades of Time at the blasts, creating an arc of time energy that slowed them until they were practically frozen in mid-air. Then he sliced with the other, and another arc appeared. The arc grazed Unicron's side, corroding it until it crumbled.
"Onyx?" Micronus Prime asked.
The first Predacon gave the first Minicon a boost up to his chestpiece, where Micronus combined with and boosted Onyx. Onyx Prime transformed into a gargantuan dragon and breathed fire over Unicron's projectiles. The dark energon exploded, and Onyx directed the rest of the fire onto Unicron.
Badly hurt, Unicron still fought on, barging through Onyx and reaching Liege Maximo. He brought his mace down on the smirking Prime.
It passed right through Maximo as if he wasn't there.
"Looking for me?" Liege Maximo's voice came from behind Unicron.
The god of chaos turned to see no one.
"Oh, Unicron," Maximo's voice sounded to his right. "You gotta be faster than that."
Unicron turned and swept his mace at the voice, and a dart embedded itself in his charred armour. The dart released its toxin into Unicron's fuel lines, and Unicron quickly felt woozy, falling unconscious before he hit the ground.
Megatronus charged up his Requiem Blaster on his right arm.
"Stand aside!" he called to the others. The ones near Unicron quickly scurried away.
Megatronus Prime fired.
The blaster tore through Unicron's chassis. It also blasted a path through all the spires and buildings behind Unicron for a long way.
What was left of Unicron was his head, lower torso, and legs. His chest simply wasn't there.
"Launch him away from our planet," Prima told them, as Onyx and Micronus separated.
Amalgamous Prime transformed into a giant slingshot, and the others loaded Unicron onto it. Amalgamous launched his remains, and they never saw him again.
