"Hello?" I say into the phone, it's almost eleven at night I can't imagine who would be calling me so late.

"Listen to me. I don't like you a whole much but you care about my sister, I know you do. Something has happened and I need you, she needs you. You have power Ares and we need you to use it or she's going away for months." Helen's voice filled my ears and my heart started drumming wildly.

What the fuck does she mean?

"What happened?"

"Aria's in hospital, she overdosed."

I walk quickly down the hall, room number 278 that's what the nurse told me. I turn a corner and see Aria's parents standing outside, Her mother is sobbing and her father looks furious. I can hear screaming coming from inside the room.

"Let me in to see her," I demand as I reach for the door but Vincent and two other men step in front of the door, blocking me out.

"She is fragile and she won't take visitors," Vincent told me coldly and I swear I see red for a moment.

"Is she even fucking alive? What did she take?" I ask him calmly, I need him to think I'm not about to break his neck so he can tell me what happened.

"She is alive, She woke up from the coma a few minutes ago and we think she took ecstasy or Molly we don't know. She had been on the pills for a while apparently."

How did I not see this?

Fuck Aria what were you thinking...

The funeral, must have started then to escape her grief. What kind of fucking husband was I that I couldn't even tell she was taking drugs to cope. I should have noticed, I'd never forgive myself for this.

More yelling from inside the room and my sadness quickly swirls into rage again, "What's wrong with her?" I hiss at Vincent.

He shakes his head as he rubs his eyes and Maria only cries louder, "Nothing, look we'll keep you updated soon. This is family-"

"SHE'S MY FUCKING WIFE, " I shouted at him, whatever control I had was rapidly slipping out of my hands. My fingers were itching to grab the gun tucked into my waistband.

"She is not your wife yet. She's an addict, she's irrational and going through withdrawal." Vincent told me, his tone of voice was cruel and intimidating.

Perhaps I would have backed down then, but another cry pierced the silence and I grabbed his jaw, ignoring the guns raised from his men, "Let me in to see her, or I will start a war with your family."

I meant every word and he knew it, his pride was a deadly thing but with his own wife standing next to him he wouldn't test me. He nods and I rip the door open.

Aria was sitting up in the bed crying and yelling, her beautiful brown hair hanging in tangled waves down past her shoulders. There were dark circles under her eyes I hadn't seen before and her face was red and wet with tears.

There were handcuffs on each wrist, they chained her to the railing of her bed and I swear I had to touch my heart because it felt like it was shattering.

Aria cried louder as she pulled harder on the handcuffs, "YOU'RE HURTING ME, PAPA PLEASE!" She yelled and then her eyes met mine.

It wasn't my girl looking at me, I barely recognized her. The door clicked shut behind us and time froze as she went quiet looking at me.

I was ten years old again looking at my mother, half dead on the bathroom floor with an empty bottle of pills clenched in her hands. I had tried to wake her up but she didn't move, she went away for a long time after that. Almost a year.
