"Helen, I- I will not do that," I say firmly to my sister as she stands next to me.
We both peer over the edge of her balcony, we're on the second floor but...that is a huge jump.
My sister stands next to me in an angel costume and frowns, "Look I'm not being funny Aria there is no other way we can make it to the party if we don't. Look Matteo says he's going to catch us. COME ON."
I sigh loudly and glance at the mirror in her bedroom, I'm wearing a red sequinned dress and my hair is dyed dark red. It makes my green eyes look extremely bright. I quite like the look.
If Papa saw how much cleavage I was showing he'd have a heart attack and Helen was wearing a corset and underwear. So if he managed to recover from his first heart attack he'd likely have another one and pass away.
There was no way he could see our outfits.
I bent down and slipped my heels off as I climbed over the edge of the balcony, Matteo stood there grinning. He had moved a trampoline out for us but would also be there to catch us in case we bounced off.
I was grateful Helen had slept with him then, it got us these privileges. I held my breath as I jumped, trying not to scream as I fell.
I bounced on my ass a couple of times but luckily I was unharmed as Matteo helped me climb off.
"Did I make a lot of noise?" I ask him, putting my feet on solid ground again. He shook his head, grinning.
"Però il tuo vestito è volato via, bella biancheria intima."
(But your dress flew up, nice underwear)
I smacked his arm and ran for the car, letting Helen jump. She was probably going to thank Matteo for helping us escape in her own way, which I didn't want to see.
An hour later we were walking inside the club and I smiled, everyone was dressed up. I and Helen made a beeline for the bar, we had both promised not too many drinks as we needed to be somewhat sober to sneak back inside our house.
I started dancing and chatting to a few girls I recognised inside the club. Everyone looked beautiful.
The music roared in my ears and I smiled, the atmosphere was intoxicating.
"Your costume is hot," Someone called out behind me. I turned around to see a taller man dressed in a Ghostface costume.
It was odd I didn't see more of the men dressed up as him considering the movie should be coming out next year, I knew I would adore that movie.
"Thank you," I said nodding at him. "I like your costume too!"
The man chuckled and reached out to brush some hair off my shoulder and I flinched, I took a small step back. He couldn't touch me.
I wasn't prepared to test Ares tonight.
"What, I can't touch you?" He asked, tauntingly and I smiled.
"Uh no sorry," I replied, sipping my drink.
"You're going to wear a dress that revealing and expect me not to want to touch you?" The man asked me, accusingly and my eyes hardened.
"Take that mask off and say it to my face. Move on to the next girl." I said angrily. He muttered something but it came out muffled from under the mask and I walked off.
God, I hated assholes like that.
I stood at the bar and sipped my drink, looking for an angel. Helen was chatting to a group of girls dressed as dead brides.
