I know I said I was going to rewrite it, but I'm gonna continue with this one and then after this one is done, I shall post the other one. Except, in the other one, some of the characters names have changed, you get more of the background story and it'll be a lot more clearer to understand.

Chapter 12

We had been driving for what seems like hours, before we entered a small town. Ansaigar Centre. Population: 231. Correction, the one had been crossed off. Population of 23. I gulped, maybe leaving the Palace wasn't such a great idea, I should have just confronted. Goddess, I'm so stupid. Well, too late now. The car stopped at a large house, the streets only illuminated by the odd street light. Is this a pack house?

"You may get out now, Miss." The driver said as he looked in the mirror at me.

"Thank you." I said, dusting off my jeans as I stepped out and pulled a bag along with me. Goosebumps rose on my arms as I began walking towards the house, despite the wind having no chill to it. It looked slightly run down, the pavement had cracks in, one of the windows was smashed and I'm pretty sure the door was just perched in the frame.

The door towards above me as I held out my hand and brought it down, with a loud thud; it crashed to the floor. My eyes turned as big as saucers as I saw a man approach. He had a goatie, blonde hair that was styled in the 1950's and bright blue eyes; a cigarette hung from his lips. A smirk broke out on his face as he took me in.

"Well, well, well; long time no see Soleil." I raised an eyebrow, it was him?

"Oscar."  A sarcastic laugh left my lips as I brought my arm to my forehead, fucking typical. Goddess fucking dammit!

"When Aslan asked to hide someone, I didn't know it'd be a brand new royal princess, the very one that's been hiding from me for the past, what was it? Year or two? You never returned my calls."

"Sorry, I was a little busy." My shoulder lifted into a shrug, as I inspected my nails.

"Bullshit, I was supposed to look after you, you were like a daughter to me."

"A daughter you were trying to keep locked up! What was that supposed to do for me? Huh?" A vein was popping in his forehead, as he stumped his cigarette into the floor.

"You didn't know what was going on, you still don't know. Fuck, this is so typical of you! You up and leave when things become too much for you! When you can't handle the truth! When you can't accept what is going on! You were the reason your father died!" He shouted, smashing a vase against the wall behind my head but I didn't waver, I couldn't. My body was frozen, I was not the reason for my father's death; it was just a horrible framing.

"You take that back!" I screamed. My wolf surfaced as I growled at him.

"No, you know what? You were safe here! Those bastards who ran the pack wanted you dead, which was why you were sent here; he wanted you safe. But you didn't fucking listen, Soleil. Everyone tries to keep you safe; they all know how special you were and how important you were to stopping the curse!" Curse? What curse? Confusion overtook my features.

"What curse, Oscar?"

"The curse that damns me here, the curse that took my mate from me and the curse that took my soul away! That fucking Azarola witch and my stupid brother! The curse that can stop all of us being werewolves!" I stopped, looking him dead in the eye. Why would he want that? After the revolution, things had gotten better; we didn't have to hide anymore. "Do you understand what I have to go through every day, Soleil? The constant torment, it doesn't just affect the older brother. It affects me too, and before long it's going to affect my son and then his son. We'll end up going mad and killing everyone. No matter what the relation." He had gotten closer before he was no more than an inch away, his eyes flashing black before switching back to blue; he was having an internal battle with his wolf.

"Why do they need me, Oscar?" His eyes flickered onto mine, brushing my hair out of my eyes as they softened to their usual blue.

"Princess, you're..." He stumbled for words, a million apologies in his eyes. "You're the vessel." My eyebrows furrowed vessel?

"Oscar, what do you mean?"

"You're going to be the one who has to die; you're going to host Acantha's spirit." I shook my head, tears threatening to spill. This can't be happening; I haven't had a chance to live.

"How is this possible? You won't let this happen right?" He held onto me, ensuring that my weak legs wouldn't buckle underneath me. "Right?!" I almost screamed out, desperate for answers.

"When she did the curse, there was another there. A girl, she was used as the sacrifice; although at the time we didn't know that until there was gossip of a girl drained of blood, the symbol of the Ox marked around her. She had, had a baby before that time and you were of that blood line, we didn't know it had passed on until a few hundred years ago when my son was born, another death much like that girls was recorded. I traced back the line and it so happened to relate. I kept close eye on your family, made sure that each had a child with flaming red hair." I was at lost for words; I didn't even get a chance? I didn't ask to be the eldest.

"Why now?" I muttered, furious at him for ensuring that it was passed on.

"Because I'd managed to find the witch, her ancestors had remained hidden, hell! I didn't even know Acantha had a daughter! She was the strongest since Acantha and I found her before my brother." I felt like throwing up, another girl was in the mix of this with little chance.

"Is she going to survive?"

"Quite possibly." A dry chuckle left my lips, brilliant, this was not my day. I felt like screaming, ripping this hideous, cursed red hair out. She should have never left; she should have just stayed at that palace, smiled and just pretended that everything was okay. I never listen.
