My heart hammered in my chest as my feet pounded on the hard asphalt road. I had to reach her. Turning the corner, I shot out of the gates and looked around frantically. There! Movement off to my left. I was running again, trying to catch up with them. But soon, fatigue was catching up with me. I stopped by the side of the road and caught my breath. Running was too tiring. I tried to start again, but I tripped and landed flat on my face. Anger started to take over me and my body tingled all over. I felt my body disappearing as I lay there, unable to do anything else.

I could feel the road somewhere below me. I was floating above the ground, still confused as to what I was. With just a simple thought, I started to move forward. I could feel the density of the air around me as I sped up. Somewhere ahead of me, I could sense two warm points and I could feel two heartbeats. I flew through the streets, shooting towards them. They were slowly getting closer and closer.

I hovered just behind them. They couldn't see me and I was thankful for that. Although I had encountered a slight problem: I was stuck like this. So for a while, I had no other option but to just follow them. Eventually, after what had seemed like an eternity, I felt myself remodelling and I willed it to hurry up. My hearing and my sight came back to me and I smiled briefly. But it was wiped off of my face when I heard Lydia's screams. The girl in the hoodie had handcuffed her hand to Lydia's and was dragging her away. I saw red and jumped on the girl. She yelped and I growled softly. My eyes glowed bright green momentarily and as I watched, the handcuffs melted under my gaze. Hoodie Girl tried to use this opportunity to escape but I grabbed her ankle and held her there. She turned to me suddenly and I saw the slight glint of her eyes under her hood. There was sadness within them and I released my grip from her ankle momentarily as I realised this.

"You'll regret tackling me. Things are about to get much worse, I promise you." And with that, she got up and ran off into the woods. I stood up and scratched my head. What was going on?

As I was walking back to my house, I suddenly remembered something. Lydia was gone! I'd been so wrapped up in Hoodie girl's words that I hadn't even noticed Lydia's absence.

"Lydia?" I called out into the darkness. No answer. Well, it seemed that Hoodie Girl hadn't captured her again, so she must've run off in terror. I didn't blame her, to be honest. I was scared too. But I had other reasons to be scared. Like the fact that I was suddenly able to do stuff that people just should not be able to do. And I was somehow able to make my entire body dissolve. Shaking my head, I flipped out my phone and dialled Lydia's number.

"Hello?" A small voice said on the other end.

"Hey. Are you okay?" I asked with worry. She paused.

"Er, yeah I'm fine. Sorry for running off but I was kinda scared. Where did you suddenly appear from?" I bit my lip and contemplated telling her, but decided against it, remembering that we had only just met this morning.

"I was just being very quiet so that I could sneak up on the Hoodie girl." I said to her and she laughed suddenly.

"Well, you were obviously very quiet and very invisible because I didn't see or hear you!" I frowned as I walked through my gates. She didn't exactly sound grateful that I'd just saved her life.

"Oh, you're welcome by the way for me saving you." I said a little sarcastically and with a hint of irritation in my voice.

"Oh my goodness I'm so sorry I forgot to thank you!" She exclaimed suddenly and I snorted. There was definitely something strange about her, although I couldn't really say much. I wasn't exactly the most normal person ever.

"It's okay. Do you want to meet up some other time?" As I said that, she hung up and I was just left standing outside my house with my phone still held to my ear. Either she was playing hard to get or I was doing something wrong. With a shrug, I walked into the house and started to get ready to go to sleep.
