Karishma’s POV
"Okay, here's a question. I think we're all old enough to talk about it now," Alia said, giving me a look.
"What?" I asked.
"Why did you thought that Hase mama was cheating on you once and now you guys act like we don't know about?"
"Uh, let's not talk about that," I said frowning.
"They deserve to know," Haseena said softly.
"Fine," I murmured.
...........Haseena let out a sad sigh next to me. We were currently going through bills and expenses and we weren't really making ends meet. Between Haseena's school fees, my school fees, rent, groceries, and utilities we just couldn't seem to get it all figured out.
"I'm going to get a second job," I decided, looking down at the mess of bills. "I have the job at the library but I think I'm going to apply to that coaching centre at the end of the road. I saw that they were hiring."
"Karishma that's not good, you have school and homework to concentrate on," Haseena said.
"So do you." I replied.
"Yeah, about that. I think I'm going to drop out. We can't afford having us both in school right now and you're getting way more financial aid than I am so it won't be too bad just having you in school. So I'll drop this coming semester and that'll be just fine. I'm okay with it and I'll get a second job."
"What!? No. Hase you're staying in school."
"No I'm not. It's fine. I can just start back up when you finish, okay? It's fine, I don't mind it really." Haseena try to calm me down.
I shook my head. "No, I can't let you do that. Haseena just stay in school we'll get it all figured out."
"Seriously Karu, it's okay. I don't mind doing this."
"I do mind!" I shouted. "It's not fair to you, Hase and I'm not letting you do that. You've wanted to go to school for this for years!"
"I know, but I can always go back Karishma."
"I want you to stay," I said pleadingly.
"I'm not going to. It's fine, I don't mind taking some time off. We need to and if anyone you can stay in and I'll drop. It's okay Karu, I'm serious. Just let me do this."
I sighed. Haseena wasn't going to give in on this. "Fine," I muttered.
"Thank you," Hase said softly and took my hand in her, "I love you."
"I love you too. But as soon as I'm done with school, you're going," I said, glaring at her.
"Deal."
"Good," I said. "Now I gotta get going," I told her.
Haseena sighed, "Work?"
"Yep," I said, kissing the side of her head softly. I recently started working at the local library. They had a program that paid my fees all the way till I got my masters if I stuck with it and it was just an offer I couldn't refuse. But I was also leaving a little earlier for work to stop by the coaching centre to teach. I had recently picked up a not so nice habit and I was determined to not let Haseena know. If she knew she'd probably kill me.
I was just really stressed lately and having Coca-Cola helped me. It wasn't a crime, I could do it for as long as I wanted as long as Haseena didn't find out, i don't know why she just hates colddrinks.
"I'll miss you," Hase whined.
"I know, but I gotta work baby." I replied.
"Call in," Haseena suggested.
