Karishma’s POV
I smiled and looked at Haseena who was blushing a little at the dinner table. "You know, I always thought Haseena was a nerd when we were younger, I mean, our parents dragged us to all these really stupid dinner parties they hosted so we always knew each other but, we only talked if our parents made us," I said, smiling.
"Then how'd you know she was the one?" Orhan asked.
"It took some time," Haseena laughed.
"Like a lot of time?" Arya asked, "I mean, it wasn't some lame love at first sight thing?"
"Oh no, not at all," I said, shaking my head. "We knew each other basically our entire lives. It wasn't until I noticed how beautiful she was when we were doing our first tutoring session that time I knew she was the one."
"Shut up," Haseena blushed. "Just get to the story loser."
"Okay, okay, so here we go," I said.
………..
"I'm failing!" I shouted, looking at my accounting teacher wide eyeing me. "I'm like an Accounting genius, what are you talking about?""An accounting genius doesn't write Assets added to Liabilities equals I don't know on a test. If you don't bring your grade up you will fail the semester."
"Mrs. Arora, I was just kidding on the accounting test," I reasoned.
"I heard you had a great sense of humour.", "Not a great enough joke Miss Singh."
I groaned. "What am I supposed to do?" I whined.
"Find a tutor."
"How am I supposed to do that? My friends are idiots."
"Don't have your friends tutor you then. You could ask Miss Malik, she's in my Financial Management class. I'm sure she'd make a great tutor."
"Haseena?" I asked, crinkling my nose. Haseena Malik was the nerdy kid whose parents were best friends with my parents.
"Yes Haseena Malik. Is that a problem?"
"No, not at all," I grumbled.
"Great, now get out of here before you're late for class."
I nodded and rushed out to the hall where my two best friends, Cheeta and Santu were waiting.
"What was that all about?" Cheeta asked.
"I'm failing accounting," I muttered.
"Seriously?""Yeah, it's stupid. When is it ever going to matter?" I said.
"It's going to matter when you can't graduate one day because you failed accounting."
I rolled my eyes, "Shut up Santu."
"I'm just saying, so what are you gonna do? Your parents will kill you if you fail.
"My parents are going to kill me when they see what I made on that test," I said.
"And I don't know, why she told me to have nerdy Haseena Malik tutor me."
"Really? Her?"
"Yeah, that's what I said," I told them, crinkling my nose. Haseena was nerdy and awkward, and I mean, the only time I ever talked to her was at my parents’ stupid parties.
"She'd probably be more help to you than either of us," Cheeta said shrugging
.
"Hey, I'm passing accounting," Santu said. "I can try.""You'll be the reason I fail accounting," I joked, "I can't study with an actual friend. I'll never get anything done."
