~Again I'm sorry for the delay, I hit a slump and couldn't come up with any ideas. But luckily with a few hits of the devils lettuce I have a nice little list. Also this ones a little short and not that great from my perspective, sorry about that.~
After Miles left the room, him and most of the RDA soldiers made their way to the home tree. Trudy was the first to make it back, going to her room first to see if Y/n was there. The bed and couch were empty, blankets folded just the way she left them that morning.
A few moments later the door to Miles' room burst open, Trudy walking in and pulling Y/n from the bed she was still sitting on. Y/n kept asking if she was ok, Trudy only shushed her and continued walking. With Y/n in tow Trudy made her way back to her room, avoiding any soldiers she thought would whine to Quaritch.
Finally in Trudy's room Y/n slouches on the couch, after practically running to keep up with Trudy. Turning to look at Y/n, Trudy sighed and began to speak "Look honey, I honestly don't know what you see in that man, but damn. He really took the cake today..." Trudy went into minimal detail of what happened, saving the poor girl from the grotesque details. She would've continued if it wasn't for the knock at the door.
With a sigh and an eye roll Trudy opened the door to reveal none other than the colonel himself. "Gushing over me already princess?" Miles said, still looking at Trudy before turning his attention to Y/n with a smile. A smile that faded as he saw the expression on her face.
Miles stepped towards Y/n, still sitting on the couch. "I thought you'd still be in my room resting, but when I got back you were gone." Miles reached his hand out to the woman but she didn't move. So he stepped closer and reached down for her hand, now she moved, she moved to the opposite side of the couch and got up "What's wrong princess, are you ok?"
Y/n was now next to Trudy by the door, she was looking at the floor. Afraid that if she looked into his eyes shed go running back to him, but first she needed an answer. "Why?" she cleared her throat, trying to cover the break in her words. But he heard it, it was unmistakable, he never wanted to hurt her. He looked at her in confusion, not knowing what he did wrong.
Even with her head down he could tell the twinkle in her eyes was gone and he could vaguely see tears starting to pool in them. "Why did you have to hurt so many of them? What if there were kids there Miles? Babies?" The first tear fell, dripping onto her shirt, now she looked up at him. "I dont care about what happened between me and Jake anymore, I got over it. You helped me get over it and I thank you. But why do you have so much hate towards the Navi?"
With a sigh Miles began "I see the captains telling stories again," he glared at Trudy, "let's go back to my room so we can talk" Miles motioned to the door with one hand. The other held out in front of her, giving her the option to make the first move.
"No, we talk here. We talk now." Y/n said, irritation lacing her words. "I need to hear what you have to say now or you can leave."
"It would be best to have this conversation in private, and if you want to do that here then the captain needs to leave." The last part of the sentence dripped with venom, another glare landing on Trudy.
"Woah, why the fuck should I leave? This is my room." Trudy asked, now perched on the edge of her bed.
Another knock at the door and his attention was taken off the women. Y/n was the one to open the door. "Damn, I can hear ya'll yelling from the other end of the hall." Lyle chuckled as he spoke "What, am I not invited to this party?" Throwing a wink to both women and a smirk to the colonel. "Don't tell me you two are already fighting?" He was met with silence from all parties. "Well I can see I'm not wanted here, bye ladies. Sir"
Y/n's attention was back on Miles, her arms crossed as she shifted from one leg to the other. Another sigh fell from his lips, "Come to my office later so we can talk, you need to hear my side of things before you make any decisions." With that Miles left, brushing past Lyle on the way out.
The door was finally closed again, Trudy stood up from the bed. "You ok sweetie? You need anything?"
Another tear slid down her cheek, quickly she wiped it away. "I'm fine Trudy, thanks. Umm can we go to the pod room too? I need to talk to Jake."
"Sure honey, I need to find Norm." Y/n turned to Trudy with raised eyebrows. "Oh would you shut up" Trudy laughed, y/n finally smiled at her friend.
Narrator POV
Grace, Norm and Jake were being taken to the holding cells inside the base. He looked completely emotionless, broken, just like Y/n had a few days prior.
Y/n walked next to Jake as they left the room, she whispered "Tell me what happened. I need every detail." She knew he wouldn't lie about something like this, something that seemed so important to him.
Jake kept his head low and his voice even lower. "They destroyed the hometree. The chief is dead, Netiri hates me because I had to keep everything a secret. Quaritch recruited me to find their weakness, and I was stupid enough to tell him." He quickly looked up, glaring at Miles and continuing "They manipulated me... he's going to manipulate you. If he actually cares about you then they'll make him use you to get to me."
Y/ns eyes widened, her thoughts consuming her while they walked. Finally she spoke again "Why did they do it?"
Jake chuckled at her naivety "Money... greed is all these fuckers run on."
He wouldn't use me, not after this morning. Was it part of his plan? Making me fall for him? Am I another pawn to him? Y/n could only think of the worst after she left Jake at the cell, now on her way to talk to Miles.
