Carefull He's Teething

~ Hey, hey, small time skip. This one's a little into the pregnancy.~

"Jake!" I glare at him from across the room as he tosses Spider in the air. Spider laughs, causing my glare to break. I smile at his giggles, my tone softening. "... just be careful."

Jake looks over at me, a short nod following. He looks at Neytiri next, her belly nearly as round as mine. He smiles brightly at her, his fangs glinting in the light. He puts Spider back in his playpen after a few more tosses into the air.

Neytiri smiled, watching Jake play with the small child. Tsu'tey sits in the corner, a soft smile on his face as he watches Spider play. Ever since Spider started crawling, he's been following Tsu'tey around the compound. At first, Tsu'tey thought of him as a nuance. Now he lingers in the rooms, watching over Spider, watching over me.

I turn back to the monitor in front of me, scrolling through the information. I stretch my arms, my back aching from sitting in the chair for so long. Pushing my chair out, I slowly stand. My back popping in a few places as I stretch. (Literally, all I can think of is when Bella breaks her back after dropping her togo cup of blood.)

I place my hands on my lower back, a dull ache climbing up my back. I look down at my belly. It seems to grow larger the longer I look at it. Slowly, I rub my hand over my belly, smiling softly. Neytiri walks over to me, leaning against the desk. "How are you doing? Shouldn't your children be here soon?"

We've become friends in these past few months. I look up and smile at her, "Not yet." I sigh softly, "I envy you for only having one. I don't know what I'm going to do with the twins plus Spider." Spider stands in his playpen, holding onto the side. His slobber drips onto the floor as he chews on the fabric at the top of the pen.

Neytiri smiles as she places her hand on my shoulder. "You will do great. Look at Spider.. He is healthy and strong for a baby."

I smile up at her, looking to Spider. His drool drips to the floor, a small puddle under the play pin. We both laugh as I walk over to him, picking him up slowly. "Thank you, Neytiri."

A scientist walks over to us, chuckling as he cleans the mess off the floor. I apologize, saying I could clean it. His only response was a wave of his hand as he continued to clean. Spider babbles at him, his tiny hand clutching my shirt.

Time Skip

"Come on, Y/n. One more push."

I scream, holding onto Trudy’s hand. I cry, shaking my head. "I ca- I can't.. I can't, it hurts."

"The hell you can't.." Trudy grips my hand harder, making me look at her. I shake my head again. "Yes, you can, and you will. Those babies are ready to see their momma. Hell, I'm ready to see those little turds that made you even more gorgeous." Trudy laughs, brushing my hair from my face. The sweat, making it even more difficult.

I smile, taking a deep breath. I nod, preparing myself for another push.

Time Skip

Two hours of sleep.. if it's not one, it's the other. I slowly and quietly move to their bed, hoping Spider doesn't wake up. I shush them softly, shaking my head, whispering. "My luck.. both twins are terrible night sleepers, just like their brother." I close my eyes, I wish you were here, Miles.

A tear slips down my cheek, and I quickly pick the boys up. Cradling them close to my chest, I go back to the bed. I check them over, both of them having a wet diaper.

I sigh, small feet pattering on the cold floor. I look up, smiling, silently wishing Jake would stop teaching him how to climb. "Spider, baby.. you need to be in be-... Tsu'tey?.."

He shrugs, bending to step through the door. "He heard the crying.. I did, too. I was going to get them if you wanted to sleep.."

I smile at them, Tsu'tey has become a really good friend and an amazing uncle to the boys. "Thank you, but I'm ok.. you really don't have to stay here if you don't want to."

Spider walks closer. He grips the sheets, pulling himself up. He lays up by my pillow, his butt in the air. I look at him over my shoulder and laugh softly.

"Well, it looks like you have things settled." Tsu'tey offers a small smile, "You are still a new mom, it is ok to ask for help.. no one will judge you."

I look down at my twins, tears slowly spilling from my eyes. " I only want his help.. I don't want to raise them without him." I look up, crying softly.  Tsu'tey walks closer, taking the boys from me. He takes them back to their room and puts them back to bed. It takes a few minutes for him to come back, but when he does, his face is contorted in disgust.

I snort, laughing through my tears. "Were they pooped?"  He nods and walks over to the bed, picking Spider up. I look at him, his back retreating through the door, pulling it closed behind him. "Thank you." I sit on the edge of my bed for a moment. He still doesn't know how to react to crying.

Time Skip

"Boys!" I call out to them, listening as they race down the hall. Spider winning, of course. They're inseparable and constant chaos.

Spider is 3. Noah is older than Tyler by 7 minutes. They just turned 2.

I laugh as Spider straightens out his shirt, his bow tie off center. I bend down, helping him fix it. Noah went to his left and Tyler to his right. I fix their shirts as well, clipping the bow ties to the collars. "Mommy.."

"Yes, baby?" I look at Miles, smiling. Combing my fingers through his hair, taming it slightly.

He smiles, "Mommy, what dime is da we'ing?"

A small laugh escapes me, "In a few hours.. we still need to fly out there. But it's Aunt Trudy flying, so we'll get there in no time." I stand up, straightening out my dress.

The boys sit on the couch, putting their shoes on. With a big toothu grin, Noah holds his feet in the air, silently asking me to help tie his shoes. Laughing, I do just that, tying Tyler's and Miles shoes while I'm at it.
