"I can't believe you're painting again," Spain announced for the third time in the last ten minutes, making me chuckle as we walked further into the building, and a sense of relief rushed through me in the same instance since this was the last one for today.

"You're fucking dramatic," I replied and my statement left me to think of Britt since she used those words to describe me at least once every day.

"I'm coming to the show, and I'm buying all of them," He promised.

"They're not for sale," I told him as I thought back to what I was working on.

"Why?"

"Because I painted these for myself," I explained the best I could and he nodded in understanding.

"Next set?"

"Yeah next set," I replied smiling as we moved to the reception desk.

"Good day, could you get Mr Smith for us," I voiced, speaking to the woman who stood there.

"Is he expecting you both?" She asked while giving me her attention, and the statement left me to realise that she was new here since it exposed her lack of knowledge of who we were.

"No he's not, just tell him Ms Johnson is here to see him please," I replied and she nodded walking off.

"How is Britt?" Spain asked, making me smile.

"She's good,"

"At work?"

"Yeah,"

"How is the entire living together thing?"

"Amazing," I replied thinking back to all the time we've spent together, especially last night that was still fresh on my mind.

"Look at you simping," He joked, making me laugh as he flashed me a proud smile that would mirror a parent looking at his or her child after they had accomplished something great.

"I'm happy for you," He expressed.

"I appreciate that," I replied as the woman returned.

"You can go ahead Ms Johnson,"

Music continued to spill out of the speakers and I smiled recognizing the song as I stepped into the kitchen/dining area to see Britt sitting around the kitchen island, looking like everything I ever needed and more while the smell of dinner invaded my nostrils.

"Is that Dorothy Moore?" I asked, sitting down on the stool beside her and she hummed in response as her eyes met mine. "I knew you were an old soul but I didn't know your soul was this old,"

"Okay Joe tex," She fired back with a smile in a way of reminding me that the music I listened to came from the same area as her hand met my thigh.

"I love you," I announced, allowing the way I felt in her presence to push the words off my lips.

"I love you too," She replied leaning over to place a small kiss on my lips which I gladly accepted.

"How was work?" I asked her the moment she pulled away.

"Construction," She offered and I smiled at the one word that summarised what she went through since I had begun the hospital remodel today. I had Darrelle design it and Jason's team working on the building which— "Aren't you hungry?"

"Y—"

"Do you want me to make you something else?" She asked before I could get a word out and I smiled at her offer.

"What you made is amazing. I just zoned out for a minute," I replied while reaching down to hold her hand that was resting on my thigh.

"What about?" She asked as I began eating the food and my hunger sent me words of praise.

"How good of a job Darrelle did on the designs and Jason with the whole remodelling process,"

"They really appreciate that by the way," She replied as I continued to eat.

"I appreciate them, I'm always looking for black people to support,"

"I can tell," She announced amused and I smiled knowing that she was referring to my closet that was filled only by black businesses.

"Are you picking up Aria tomorrow or do you want me to?"

"I was thinking we both could,"

"That means I'm dropping you off and picking you up from work tomorrow right?"

"Yeah, and then we can just pick her up after,"

"Okay," I agreed as I lifted my glass to take down some of the juice she had poured me.

The feeling of her orbs piercing into me as I returned the glass to the island had a smile stretching my lips.

"What?" I asked while turning to face her and she frowned immediately.

"You have sauce on your face," She pointed out and I lifted my hand wiping the spot that her gaze was currently planted on.

"No lower," She repeated and I complied but by the look on her face I knew it was still there.

"Just get it for me," I ordered softly and she smiled leaning forward allowing confusion to enter me, but my expression immediately transitioned into one of amusement as her tongue ran over a spot by my lips. "I meant with your hand,"

A slight laugh left me and she smiled, pecking my lips.

"I'm going to bed," She announced.

"So you just gon do that and go to bed?" I asked and she snickered, moving off the stool.

"I'm tired,"

"You're just gonna to leave me with Dorothy?" I asked jokingly, referring to the music playing.

"Yes I am," She replied laughing as she walked out.
