"Are you okay?" I questioned in a soft tone since her silence only served to worry me, especially when she had barely said a word to me from the moment I had picked her up from work to now.

"Yeah," She replied as I pulled over to park the car outside of Andre's apartment.

"Then why are you so quiet?"

"I'm just tired," She explained and I quickly remembered she had done a double shift at the hospital today.

"Do you want me to keep Aria so you can get some rest?" I offered while reaching over to hold her hand, and my action left her undivided attention to grace me.

"No it's okay," She replied and I granted her a small smile since I knew where her mind had trapped itself.

"You're not imposing,"

"I never sai—"

"I know but you were thinking it" I pointed out and she released a smile as she redirected her gaze to the windscreen before us.

"Thank you," She expressed, silently agreeing to let me keep Aria.

"You don't have to thank me, this is my responsibility," I stated and she sighed leaning over to peck my lips.

"I love you,"

"I love you too," I responded, placing another small kiss against her lips.

My hand released itself from hers as she pulled away completely to open the car door before walking away.

RING!

My phone began its noisy screams and I reached over grabbing the device while checking the caller ID.

Spain

"Didn't you see me calling you?" Spain asked the second I had answered my phone.

"Is she there?" I asked, ignoring his question with a smile as I referred to the mother of his child.

"No, she left, it's just me and Tyler. I have him for the day," He replied and I hummed leaning back in my seat in an attempt to relax.

"Why didn't you take him back to your crib?"

"She doesn't want him around my girl,"

"Didn't Tyler meet every guy she's dated in the last two months?" I asked confused and he chuckled.

"Yeah," He replied and I offered a sigh in disbelief. "But I'm trying to stay on her good side because that one time I got locked up really fucks with whether or not I get custody,"

"Are you still swinging by your grandmother's house today?" He inquired after I released a hum of understanding at his previous response.

"Yeah, you dropping by?"

"Yeah I kinda need some of your grandmother's cooking to warm my soul in this cold ass weather," He mumbled, pulling a laugh from me.

I was about to respond but the echo of Aria's small voice calling out my name had my statement returning to its source.

"I'm going have to call you back,"

"Alright Ice," He replied and I disconnected the call before putting away my phone.

My hand travelled to the door to push it open, and I was left to exit the vehicle in time to meet her tiny figure as I kneeled to accept her into my hold.

"How was your weekend?" I asked while standing up with her in my arms.

"I watched cartoons," She replied happily as if it was the best thing on earth, and I couldn't help the smile that drifted onto my lips at her positive nature while my gaze travelled to an approaching Britt and Andre.
