Her life flashed before her eyes, but before she could scream she found herself in someone's arms.

"Watch it."

Her body was stiff, while blood pumped through her veins like a raging river. After a few more moments she managed to open her eyes to see the person who held her.

"Tsk. Can you talk?"

A beautiful man, with asymmetrical dark green hair and sharp golden eyes looked back at her with a scowl on his face.

"An angel...?" were the first words out of her mouth.

His scowl ran deeper through his face as he pushed her back into her room.

"Ouch! I didn't know I could still feel pain in heaven," she said as she fixed her glasses.

"Imbecile, you're obviously still alive."

"Huh? Really?"
Jingyi checked her body and looked around the room she clearly checked into earlier that night.

"Wow, you're right. You saved me, Mr. Angel!"

He looked annoyed, "why do you keep calling me that?"

"Oh...probably because you never said your name?"

"You don't need to know."

"Then I'll keep calling you Mr. Ang–"

"Xiao."

Jingyi grinned, "nice to meet you, Xiao. I'm Jingyi."

Xiao looked at the young women before huffing and disappearing into a black smoke.

Jingyi's eyes widened, "wow, he must have been one of the adeptai that mom and dad used to talk about."

Jingyi laid back down on the bed, the earlier debacle caused her adrenaline to crash, making her extra tired. Sleep came and before she knew it, it was the next day. She checked out of the inn and continued on her journey.

"I hope you enjoyed your stay, thank you for your patronage."

"Thank you," Jingyi replied, "do you happen to know how many days on foot is Liyue?"

"You can probably make the journey in a day."

"Oh really? That's good to know, thank you for everything."

Jingyi left the Wanshu Inn location and ventured forward towards Liyue. Even though the inn lady said the journey could be made in one day, Jingyi wasn't the type that would rush. If her slow walking made it so she would be there in two more days, then so be it.

It seemed like her prediction about the journey taking the extra day was correct as she sat by the campfire she had set up. Jingyi looked up to the stars and smiled. Even if she's not in Mondstat, she knows that the stars will always be with her.

"You're free to join me if you'd like."

The adeptus in the shadows appeared in front of her again through wisps of black smoke.

"You felt me, not bad for a mortal."

Jingyi smiled goofily, "I was just guessing ehe."

Xiao scowled, "are all mortals as weird as you?"

"I would say to some degree, do you know a lot?"

His face noticeably softened.

"...Only one."

"Oh? Why don't you sit and tell me about your friend?"

Xiao looked at Jingyi with a sort of surprise on his face. Like he never expected a human to be able to look at him as a being that wasn't just an adeptai.

"...I can't."

With that, he disappeared again like he was afraid of something. Jingyi couldn't have known what he was so afraid of, but she was just happy to have seen him again. And if he didn't want to admit it, he's glad to have let her see him as well.
