"Thank you for the meal," Jingyi thanks the red head.

"No problem! If I didn't come anyway, no doubt you would have had to foot the bill for Zhongli."
"Oh? Do you not have any money Zhongli?"

Zhongli looked a bit disgruntled, "It's not that, I just forget to bring my wallet at times."

"All the time you mean," Childe chided.

"Don't be so hard on Zhongli!" Jingyi said to Childe before turning to Zhongli, "I'm sure you just have a lot on your mind!" She added as a way to try consoling him.

Zhongli smiled at the little mortal's antics.

"Thank you Jingyi."

Jingyi smiled, "the food was really good! Thank you for your recommendation, if you ever want to go out for lunch sometimes just let me know, ah but, I'll be heading back to Mondstat soon..."

"No need to overthink things, if you are ever back in Liyue, feel free to look for me."

Jingyi smiled and nodded, "for sure!"

Childe felt a bit left out so he inserted himself into the conversation.

"So are you going to head off for the night?" He asked while looking at Jingyi.

"Hm, I'm honestly not too sure."

"I have this place to show you that I think you'd get a kick out of."

Jingyi looked at him suspiciously but was also curious. She happened to catch a glimpse of Zhongli nodding and realized it was a sign that it would be fine. She might not have trusted Childe but she felt like she could fully trust Zhongli.

"Yeah okay that sounds fun!" Jingyi replied to Childe.

"You kids have fun, I'll be the one retiring for the night."

"Good night Zhongli!"

"Good night Jingyi."

Immediately after Zhongli departed there was an awkward feeling in the air. Jingyi has always had a problem being around new people.

"Follow me," Childe cheerfully said.

'Too late to back out now,' Jingyi thought.

The pair walked towards the outskirts of the city, not by too much before they were making their way up a steep incline. After what felt like climbing forever Jingyi heard Childe talk.

"Here, take my hand."

She took it and was pulled up to his level. It took a minute for Jingyi to get her footing but luckily this area was leveled. After gaining her footing she wanted to let go of Childe's hands immediately but he turned her attention towards the scenery.

"Look."

Turning around, Jingyi was met with the breathtaking view of the city and the port. The sun was setting fast, dying the city in an otherworldly red and orange glow before night fully set in. When night came and darkness blanketed the sky, the lights in Liyue flickered on one by one. Jingyi was in awe that the city was still bustling after darkness came compared to the laid back lifestyle in Mondstat's nightlife.

Childe watched as Jingyi's expressions displayed openly on her face, her eyes wide like saucers and her expression stuck in complete awe. He felt something in him while looking at her. What was it? Jingyi turned to look at him, her expression wasn't one of discomfort or wariness but one of appreciation and happiness.

"Thank you for bringing me up here, Childe."

Childe was thankful that it was dark since he could feel himself blushing at her genuine appreciation.

"You're welcome."

"How did you find out about this viewpoint?"

"I found it when I was doing some re– some exploring around the area."

"Hmm, I see...your home is far away isn't it?"

Childe was taken aback by her question. But he had nothing to hide.

"Y-yeah..."

"Do you have family?"

"Mhmm...they are waiting for me back home."

"I'm sure you have your reasons."

"How about you? Do you have family?"

Jingyi thought about her parents, they were the only family she knew since they never planned on introducing her to the family here in Liyue. But after coming here, even with what happened in the past, Jingyi wants to try talking to them again.

"Yeah I have family, it's just my parents and I right now...we aren't close with anyone else due to... reasons."

"I see..."

The pair sat there actually enjoying each other's presence even though neither of them wanted to admit it, but it was getting late and Jingyi thought she should be heading back soon to rest.

"I should get going," she said.

"I can walk you back to where you're staying," Childe offered.

"I'm good, thanks though," as much as the pair had a moment she wasn't keen on letting her guard down too much.

"I'm assuming it's a no on sparing too?"

Jingyi sighed, "I'm okay with it, I'll meet up with you around here at noon time?"

Childe smiled, "sounds good to me."

"Well, until then."
