Stepping out of the tavern Jingyi noticed how nice the night felt on her skin.

"A slight detour won't hurt right?" She said to herself.

She walked slowly towards the direction of the water fountain that was in the city. When she got there she saw how the moon reflected on it and the added ambiance of the night with no one around gave it that ethereal vibe. She couldn't help but want to just take a seat on the fountain and close her eyes listening to the water.

Not too long a voice joined her, "why hello, I didn't expect anyone here at this time."

Jingyi opened her eyes and was met with a pair of green ones that seemed to glow looking back at her. Her face scrunched, "Venti?" She thought to herself, memories from her past life entering her mind gently.

"I was just enjoying the night ambience, but it is a bit late huh?"

He hummed to himself, "it is pretty nice tonight isn't it? May I join you?"

"Oh sure, by all means."

The bard went ahead and sat right next to Jingyi, "Thanks! I'm Venti by the way."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Jingyi," she paused, "I think I've seen you perform under the statue that's in front of the church."

Venti smiled, "I think our meeting tonight was fate."

Jingyi blinked, "fate?"

Venti stood up again and faced Jingyi, "Would you like to see a trick?"

Even more confused Jingyi parroted, "a trick?"

Venti held his hand out and Jingyi slowly went to grasp it, helping her up. And with a giggle and a gentle flick of his wrist, Venti sends a gentle breeze Jingyi's way. At first it seems to do nothing other than tousle her hair, but as the cool wings spin around her, enveloping her frame in the airy light, Jingyi finds herself feeling lighter. Her feet are still on the ground but for a moment she feels as though she's soaring with the birds. Just as quickly as it came, the wind so too leaves, letting her settling back into gravity's arms and embracing her now healed body.

"Pretty neat huh?" A bright, wide smile and two hands on his hips, Venti was certainly sure of himself.

Jingyi's face paled as she looked at him, "you..."

He brought a finger to her lips, "shh, you don't need to say anything to the verse. I know."

Jingyi was silent. She didn't know what to think but at the same time it was nice that there was someone else that knew. Someone to share in the burden of knowledge.

"Will you allow me to walk you home?" Venti asks.

"It would be an honor."

The two started the walk back to her apartment.

"Will others know?" Jingyi asks.

"Normally no, they won't know. The archons, they will know. Normal people might be attracted to you though..."

"I see.."

"It's not a scary thing."

"It's a little intimidating though.."

They eventually made it to Jingyi's apartment and they stood in front of her door.

Venti turned to Jingyi, "I'm sure it can be for a human, but things will be okay."

Jingyi looked through her glasses at him, "can I call for you if I need help?"

Venti beamed, "of course you can! But you should sleep, until next time."

Venti gently took her hand in his and guided it towards his lips before placing a soft kiss on the top of her hand. He let go before a swirl of wind engulfed him and he was gone. Jingyi looked around one last time before unlocking her apartment and heading in. She needed to get ready for tomorrow, and after that, the rest of her life after all.

End.
