~|| CHAPTER 8 ||~

As the conversation unfolded, Raima's initial amusement quickly gave way to shock and embarrassment as she realized the risqué undertones of Adhir's playful banter. Her cheeks flushed crimson, and her eyes widened in disbelief. The innocent conversation had taken an unforeseen and, for Raima, thoroughly uncomfortable twist, leaving her both surprised by her husband's wit and horrified by the awkward predicament in which she found herself. Raima's emotions swirled like a tempest within her as she sat there, unable to find words to respond to her husband's unexpected antics. Her heart raced, and a peculiar unease enveloped her. She turned her head this way and that, desperately searching for an escape from the awkward situation, as if a change in perspective might provide clarity or relief. In that moment, Raima's world felt both surreal and confounding, and she longed for the right words to break the spell that had left her feeling so profoundly weird.

"I....I...I have no idea what are you talking about. Stop your nonsensical blabbering, please."

"Oh, you don't? Wait, why don't I explain it to you? See, when you said under, I meant it in the situation where we would be having.."

"Shut up, shut up. I get it, alright. I completely understood your sentence. You don't have to explain anything to me."

"What? So sad, I was going to give you a practical example where I'd show you exactly what I meant."

"Adhir. I'm giving you 2 options, either get ready for the reunion or get out. The choice is yours."

"Get ready with you? How could I ever miss this chance? Let's go."

"Not with me. Separately, you in the room and me in the closet. Get your clothes out here."

"No, both of us are in the closet otherwise I'm not getting ready at all."

"You are completely and utterly mad. You know what, I'll call Rudra bhai now."

"As if you dare, you hate men. You won't even be able to say a word to him."

"Watch me." saying which Raima walked up to her bedside table and picked her phone up. After a while of twirling her phone in her fingers, she kept the phone again on the bed.

"Huh, see no courage."

"Oh, I won't call. I'll directly go to Rudra bhai's room."

"What?"

"Yeah, watch me."

As the tension in the room grew palpable, Raima couldn't endure her husband's risqué wordplay any longer. She abruptly made a hasty retreat towards Rudrana's room. Her footsteps echoed on the hardwood floor as she fled, her determination fueled by a growing sense of amusement. Yet, before she could reach her destination, she heard the hurried footsteps of her husband, Adhir, echoing closely behind her. He had realized the truthfulness in Raima's words and was determined to prevent her from complaining to his brother.

Raima's breath quickened, and her resolve to complain intensified as she neared her destination, while Adhir's outstretched arm reached desperately, nearly grazing her shoulder. Once she reached Rudrana's room, she smacked their door 15 times before being harshly pulled away by a hand.

With a mixture of frustration and humor, Adhir leaned in, attempting to gently press his fingertips to her lips, as if to place a temporary embargo on her words. Raima's eyes widened in surprise, and her voice momentarily muffled under his touch. Her brows furrowed in mock annoyance, yet a hint of amusement danced in her eyes, acknowledging the absurdity of the situation.

Before any of them could say anything, they heard the door being swung open harshly.

"What?" practically yelled Rudra. His once-calm demeanor gave way to a growing sense of irritability, and his facial expressions darkened into a portrait of crankiness. The interruption, served as another layer of irritation, like abrasive sandpaper on his nerves. His brow furrowed deeply, lines etched by the mounting exasperation, and his lips formed a stern, thin line.
