Chapter 7: Getting To Know Each Other

After Nick could adjust his eyes from the bright light he found himself in a different room with the same pad on the floor with Bluey next to him blinking rapidly

"Whoa that's bright" she said

"That it was" Nick replied

"Oh you guys are here, welcome back home" a human said behind the desk of the room

"You guys are free to head home as your training for today is done" the human said as they were typing on a screen

Nick and Bluey walked out of the room and Nick checked the time and it's 8:00pm which gave him an idea

While they're walking out of the building Nick asked Bluey something

"Hey Bluey how about we grab something to eat it's my treat" Nick asked

"Oh sure were so you have in mind?" She asked

"I know a diner down the street it has the best sandwiches I know" Nick said

"Hmm a sandwich doesn't sound too bad alright let's go" Bluey said

"Alright follow me" Nick said as he started walking down the street with Bluey behind

It took them 5 minutes to reach the diner which looks like a topical restaurant, but has a sandwich logo on top

The two enter and a man behind the counter gave a smile and spoke

"Nick my valuable customer how's it going" the man said

"Not too bad John not too bad" Nick responded

"The usual right?" John asked

"The usual" Nick said

"And for you" John said as he pointed at Bluey

"Oh... uh... BLT please" she said

"Ah good choice" John said as he started to make the sandwiches

"So Nick how's the U.G treating you" John asked

"Well I'm in training so pretty much good as a start" Nick responded as he leaned on the counter

"That's good I'm not much of a fighter I'm more of a lover ya know" John said which made Bluey giggle a bit

"It's not all about fighting John I told you this before" Nick said

"Yeah yeah, but I find it funny ya know It's my blood to pick on the ones I find close" John said as he put the sandwiches on the counter

"Yeah you told me that before" Nick said as he tapped his card on the screen and grabbed the sandwiches

"Enjoy" John said

"We will" Nick responded

Nick and Bluey sat at a booth with window view and Nick gave her sandwich and opened his

"He seems nice" Bluey said as she took a bite

"Yeah he's kind at heart" Nick said as he took a bite out of his sandwich

"How'd you find this place" she asked as she took another bite

"Well soon as I moved out of my parents house I moved here into the city and I explored the sites and stumbled across this diner" Nick responded

"Yeah I'm about to move out on my own" Bluey said

"Really what's the hold up?" Nick asked

"Well I'm worried about my parents they're old ya know It's just if I leave them something might happen when I'm not there with them" Bluey said as she looked down at the table

"Yeah I know that feeling as well, but trust me it's just gotta happen because you can't stay in the nest forever sometimes you gotta get out and fly" Nick said

"Yeah you're right my parents always said they'll be fine if I moved out I just hope they'll be alright" Bluey said

"If they're like my parents they'll be fine, but it'll be hard to learn somethings on your own, but you'll get used to it" Nick said as he finished his sandwich

"Yeah it's just life we'll have to get used to it" Bluey said

Bluey checked the time and it was 9:30pm and she sat up

"Thanks for the food Nick, but I got to get home early to check on my parents" Bluey said

"No problem have a good night" Nick said with a wave as she waved back as she headed out the door

"Was that a date?" John asked

"What no I'm just being kind" Nick said

"Nick be honest with you I think you like her" John said

"John I'mma beat you with that hat of yours if you don't shut up" Nick said as put his hands on the counter

"No need for violence I'm just messing with ya, but to be frank you'll look cute together" John said

"Ugh I'm out of here" Nick said with his hands up in the air heading towards the door

"Just don't let the love bug bite you in the night" John said as Nick gave him the middle finger on the way out which made him chuckle

Nick called for a ride home and after the ride he made it home and he headed to his apartment and noticed Mitch out in the hallway sitting on the floor

Nick tried to ignore him and try to unlock his room without making contact, but it didn't work

"Oh... Heeey Nicck... Hooow's it goooing" Mitch said slurring his words as he's obviously drunk

"Oh Mitch I'm doing good" Nick said as he's trying to open the door quickly

"Yoooou knnnooow thaaaat yooour the only friend I got" Mitch said

"Yeah I know" Nick said

"And I love yoou for that riight" Mitch said

"Yeah yeah" Nick said as he opened the door and walked inside

"Gooodnight" Mitch said with a wave

Nick closed the door with a sigh and looked into the room

"I gotta find a new place to live" Nick thought as he sat on the couch

Nick was about to turn on the TV, but he felt he's being watched and looked to his left and see a man standing there

Nick was taken back as he didn't expect someone to be in his apartment let alone so close to him, but the man spoke up

"Hello Nick" the man said
