Noel seemed to be in better spirits lately and it was nice to see him smiling once again. Just being around him like this always gave me a positive boost. I wanted to surprise Noel with a special gift, to show him that I would always be there for him and I think he deserved for someone to spoil him. I didn't want it to be music related but still something that he loved.

Every weekend Noel would sit and watch his team City play on the TV. I never payed attention to it as it wasn't my thing. Noel would try to get me to sit with him and watch, but I usually would go to my room and leave him to the footy. Though one night I decided to sit at the table while Noel was watching the match. I studied Noel's behavior, he would always be yelling at the tv like he was the manager and it made me laugh a bit when he got angry. It was very funny as he would say things and then the commentator would say the same exact thing moments later. This popped an idea into my head. I knew I had seen before presenters would ask fans what they thought of the match after and I wondered if there was any way maybe they could ask Noel about it one time after a match. I snuck off to my room and grabbed my laptop to do a little research. I found a clip of a Sky sports presenter reading out thoughts from another celebrity about their team. I knew then I had to try and get Noel on there. I had no clue even how to go about it, so I called my called my boss to see if she knew anybody I could get in contact with.

It was a few days before Noel's special surprise and I was so giddy that I actually got it to happen. We were sitting down for dinner and Noel could sense that something was going on that I hadn't told him about.

"Jess, what's going on? You can't stop smiling and laughing when you look at me lately."

"Aw is my excitement distracting you Mr. Grumpiness?" I fluttered my eyelashes at him.

"Piss off Jess, I think it's very cute but seriously cmon tell me what it is."

"Hmm are you sure? I could annoy you a bit longer."

Noel rolled his eyes at me, "Listen if you don't tell me right now I'm not letting you into my room tonight."

"Agh you wouldn't dare!" I gasped.

Noel tilted his head at me.

"Alright, alright I'll say." I huffed.

"Ok so you know how City has a game on Sunday right?"

Noel squinted his eyes at me, "How the fuck do you know that?"

"Shush, let me finish."

Noel nodded.

"Well, I managed to get you on Sky sports in their studio to comment on the game!" I squealed out.

Noel dropped his fork, "Are fucking serious? You got me on Sky Sports on Sunday?"

"Yes! I told my boss I wanted to do something nice for you and she got me in contact with someone down there and they said yes!" I jumped up from my seat excitedly.

Noel stood up and immediately ran over to me. He picked me up in his arms and swung me around the room.

"Jess you are the fucking best! I love you."

A shockwave raced down my spine as his words ringed in my ear, "I love you." Noel kissed me but I barely even felt it, just those words echoing in my mind. Noel put me down and this awoke me from my trance.

"Wow, I gotta tell my mates about this." Noel ran off to his room to phone his friends.

I sat back down at the table, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was probably overthinking it, my head was spiraling. "Nah he didn't mean it really, he was just in the heat of the moment. Or did it just slip through his mouth cause he was so excited?" I thought to myself.

A few days later we were on our way down to Sky studios. Noel and I were sitting in the back of the cab and he couldn't keep still. He was super excited but I could tell he was a bit nervous. His leg was bouncing up and down and he was twisting his hands together. What Noel said those few days ago kept replaying in my head, but I tried to act like it didn't happen. I grabbed Noel's hand into mine and he gave me his classic bright smile. It calmed both of our nerves and I rested my head on Noel's shoulder until we arrived.

Noel held my hand as we walked onto the tv set. We stood behind the tv cameras as they began rolling and did the introduction. After a while it went to the ads and a producer came up to Noel and told him to go sit in the seat in between the presenters. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and told him good luck. I stayed behind the cameras and watched Noel talking about City and watching the match. When they scored he jumped up and screamed excitedly. It was so funny seeing him like that not having a care in the world, just happiness. A few hours later the match had ended and City had won. Noel was in deep discussion with the other presenters talking about City. The only other time I saw Noel this passionate and emotional about something was his music, but I was glad I could give this to him.
I was scrolling through my phone when Noel rushed up behind and hugged me.

"Ooh hi there," I laughed, "Did you have a good time?"

"It was fuckin perfect. They even said they wanted me to come back sometime next season."

"Omg thats amazing Noel!"

"Thank you so much, none of this would've happened of it wasn't for you." Noel smiled at me.

He leaned forward and kissed me. I don't know if he was buzzing after being on tv but that was one of the best kisses we ever shared.

"Well if that's the thanks I'm gonna get than you're welcome anytime." I winked at Noel.

Noel laughed and wrapped his arm around my shoulder as we walked out the studio.
We stood outside waiting for the car to pick us up. It was a bit cold outside and Noel wrapped his jacket around me. I stood leaning against him with his arms still around me. I felt so safe and comfortable being in his warmthness. I was beginning to fall in love with Noel and I secretly hoped he felt the same way he said a few days before. We kissed again and he held my hand as the car pulled up. As we were getting into the car I thought I saw a bright flash out of the corner of my eye. I brushed it off as just a street lamp flickering down the road.
