Chapter 14

It was so wonderful having Noel back in my life. We picked up right where we left off. It was like he never left, but one thing had changed. Noel was even more caring and loving toward me than before. It was like he was trying to compensate for what he had done. It was so sweet but he didn't really need to do it for me. He moved back into my flat and hadn't left my side for days.
Since I had been fired, I didn't have any work to do and I wasn't sure if Noel even wanted me to do stuff for him again. It was so weird, I knew exactly what his schedule was like when I was working for him and now I don't know what he's doing, if anything at all.

I sat down at the table with Noel after making both of us a cup of tea.

"So Noel when do you think you are going to go back to the studio?" I asked him, stirring my cup.

"Oh it's no rush. I'm here with you now." He said smiling brightly back at me.

"You know while you were gone I did get fired from my job. But I can help you find someone else to help you. I'm sure you wanna get back on track."

Noel's smile faded a little. "I know and I'm sorry that happened to you but I don't need anyone else, you're perfect." I blushed at his words. "Listen you can still do it if you really want to and I'll give you what you were making."

"You won't think it will be weird?" I asked.

"You were doing it before. What's changed?"

I wasn't sure how to answer that. Luckily before I needed to answer Noel continued.

"Hey, I have an idea. Why don't you start your own business? You could start off with me and then get some new clients. Then you can shift your focus more on them since we're together anyways."

"You really think I can do it?"

Noel flashed his baby blue eyes at me. "Of course you can. You're young, smart, courageous, and so organized. You're the best assistant I've ever had. And I'm not saying that just because I get to kiss you everyday, he winked at me, "Anyone would be lucky to have you working for them."

My eyes started to tear up and I quickly wiped them away. "Thank you Noel, I'm gonna do it!"

I stood up and walked over to Noel and sat in his lap. "And yes you are the only client who will ever get this." I put my arms around his neck and kissed him. I had missed the taste of him so much. I slid one of my hands into his hair as he slipped his tongue into my mouth. Noel moved one of his hands down my back and I placed my other hand on his thigh. We stayed like this for a few more minutes until I pulled away and got up.

"Ok I think I'm going to go start setting up my brand." I smiled at him. As I walked away I could hear Noel laugh softly to himself. I knew what he really wanted but I couldn't give it to him, not just yet.

Noel had been going back to his studio and I was glad he was doing what he loved again. I decided to take his advice and start my own business doing my passion. I created my website and I started to gain a little traction. Of course Noel having been a client (and so much more) helped to sell my brand and I also got some of my former clients to pitch in as well. One of them even decided to switch to me and that really helped me to believe in myself.

Since I had gotten a few people to sign up and and Noel was doing his thing we started seeing each other a bit less during the day but we always found time for us. I asked Noel one day if I could come to his studio. I actually couldn't believe it took me this long to ask but I always hesitated as I knew that was his time to focus and work. But now that I was apart of his music I finally had the courage to ask and I was happy when he said yes.

I drove with him to his studio and some days of course the media would be there trying to get pictures of him. As we stepped out, a lingering thought in the back of my head wondered how he was gonna react. Noel and I stopped in front of a few of the cameras.

"This is my girlfriend and I fuckin love her!" Noel shouted and then kissed me.

As he kissed me I didn't even see any of the flashes go off. I was so surprised but also really proud of Noel. I was happy he wasn't running away from us anymore and that I was there for him. We stepped in to the building and I stopped Noel for a minute.

"I can't believe you just did that!"

"Well like I told you, I realized my mistake and I just wanted to tell the truth." My heart fluttered as his bright eyes looked down at me.

I gave him a hug and a little kiss. "And you're my boyfriend and I love you too." Noel smiled and we both laughed as we walked down the hallway. We came to this room with a bunch of little couches and a table with a little refrigerator. I sat down my stuff and made myself comfortable.

"I'll be in the next room over, just give a shout if you need me." Noel leaned down and gave me a little peck on the lips and left.

I opened my laptop and began some work. A few hours passed when Noel came back into the room. He sat down next to me staring at the computer and I closed it and set it down.

"How's everything going?" I asked while rubbing my fingers on the back of his head.

"It's going great. I have a few songs to finish up then I will get to lay down some vocals to the tracks."

"Ooh yay! I'm so excited that your new album cycle is starting. Oh my gosh, there will be so much for you to do. I'll have to start making a schedule again, start contacting people again, . . ." I probably started rambling on too much as after a minute or so I heard Noel laugh again.

"What?"

"Nothing, just you're very cute when you get all excited and hyped up like that." Noel said and wrapped his arm around me.

"That's because you have no energy, Mr sourpuss." I said pushing him a bit.

"Eh woah thats not true. You seen what I did out there." Noel held his arms up and pointed. "I'm just an old man, I don't got that crazy energy like you do."

"Aw thats ok. You're a handsome, loving, old man who compliments me so well." I said hugging Noel's arm and resting my head on his shoulder. Noel lifted up my chin and gave me a small kiss.

"Ok but really though, I do want to get you some new promo shots for this new album cycle."

Noel sighed, "Ugh fine but you have to be there."

"Of course I will." I smiled back to him.

I packed up my thing and me and Noel headed back home for the night.
