Sometimes, working as a Knight of Favonius was a worthy occupation that she would never trade for anything else, and sometimes... well-
"Well hello there, miss! Mind if I sing you a -hic- song?" The infamous bard of Mondstadt stumbled toward her, nearly falling over in his stupor.
A sigh escaped her as she caught him, setting him back on his feet. "Venti, it's at least 2 in the morning, there is no need to wake the kind citizens of Mondstadt so rudely." She whispered.
Venti gasped loudly, earning a shushing noise from the woman, "But the beauty of such a lady must be celebrated! And, might I add, one that rivals a goddess is certainly an additional factor!"
A blush appeared on her face before she shook her head, "Venti, I'm not even that pretty, now hush! How would you know what a goddess looks like anyway? I doubt you've ever been to Inazuma."
"That's because I'm Barbatos!" He exclaimed, "And you deserve a song~" he reached for his lyre.
She paused before disregarding his comment, "Now I know you've had way too much wine." She caught his hand before he could touch his instrument, and gently guided it away.
This backfired however when he stumbled toward her and gave her a hug,
"Do you control the wind? Because anemo of you..." he buried his face into her shoulder, not catching sight of her blazing face. She made a mental note to decrease the time he spent around Kaeya."Y-you're drunk and not thinking straight... Let's get you home-" She stopped, "Where do you live..?"
"Here, there, pretty much anywhere I can find a place to sleep," his words slurred quietly as she looked at him in surprise from his comfortable place on her shoulder. He didn't have a place to stay?
She picked him up bridal style, and made sure he was comfortable before she started walking to her place. "That won't do, you can't just stay out late at night... drunk out of your mind... who knows what trouble you'll get into..."
Venti giggled as he cuddled into her, "woah, you're really strong!" He poked her arm, gaping at the firm muscles that met his touch, "goodness, you must be stronger than Kaeya!!!"
She chuckled at this, "You're actually very light, however, I have beaten Kaeya in an arm wrestling competition before... yes, I remember he was sulking the next week after that."
Venti giggled again before sighing and snuggling into her warm arms, "You're so nice, I wonder if..." He didn't continue his sentence, only contentedly sighing before he dozed off.
She looked down to see him asleep, a serene expression meeting her eyes. She laughed quietly and carefully grabbed the keys on her belt, making sure not to disturb the sleeping bard.
As she opened the door, her fluffy black and white cat, Henry, greeted her by meowing loudly, only to be quickly hushed.
He started to meow louder in anger at the lack of food he had received (even though she had fed him plenty).
She escaped into her bedroom, closing the door behind her with her shoe before gently setting Venti down on her bed.
Taking a moment to observe his features, she was surprised to see that she had never really taken in how pretty he actually was, or how his face was so nicely framed by his hair, which had come out of their braids.
She shook her head to get rid of the thoughts before walking out of the room, almost tripping over her cat as he irritatedly yowled at her.
Scooping up the fluff ball, she made her way to where she stored the cans of cat food before dropping the excitedly squirming cat, who almost clawed her in anticipation.
After she had fed the spoiled cat, she made her way back into her room to check on Venti, only to find him curled up into a ball, snoring softly.
Almost melting at the adorable sight, she picked up a blanket and placed it over him, making sure he would be warm.
Turning away, a hand stopped her from leaving, and she was met with a pair of brilliant green eyes, tiredly looking up at her.
"Don't go.." He mumbled, yawning.
His grasp on her wrist tightened, before relaxing, "You're gonna' need your beauty sleep too..."
"...Are you sure?" She hesitated. She didn't want to make him uncomfortable and she didn't want him to be embarrassed when he woke up.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be with someone I love?" Venti yawned again, not aware of how much weight his words carried.
She completely blanked as she heard him speak, only to reason he was saying this out of his crazy drunkenness.
"...Well?"
She jumped before meeting those very green eyes, "Pardon?"
"Are you going to cuddle me or what?" He asked as he made grabby hands at her.
She let out a breath, glad but disappointed he really was just drunkenly saying things.
"Fine, but you better not punch me when you wake up."
Venti smiled sleepily before nodding, "I would never be able to punch you, you're too important to me..."
Wow he really was making it difficult not to swoon at his adorable comments, but she laid next to him nonetheless before immediately getting hugged by him. The sensation was one she could only compare to as a child hugging their teddy bear as she hugged back.
He dug himself as tightly as he could between her arms, as if she would suddenly disappear.
"Thank you so much..."
