Her mother rushed into the mage's office after receiving a letter via bird, that her dear child had given someone a bloody nose.
"Oh, Miss! Thank you for coming on such short notice!" The mage welcomed her in that oily voice all the kids hated, "I assumed you know why we contacted you?"
He gestured to the chairs at the side of the room.
Her daughter, watery eyed and defiantly glaring at the mage, was holding a box of tissues while the blond boy next to her held the same expression as he shoved bits of paper up his nose.
"Darling, what in Teyvat happened?" She whispered, approaching the children as she kneeled down to their height.
Her child mumbled something, wiping her eyes.
"Speak up, you know how to talk." The mage hissed.
He didn't deserve a response, so the girl just ignored him, and gestured to the boy, "He told me that girls can't punch."
"So you punched him?"
She nodded, rubbing her eyes again, "Then the teachers came in and didn't let me explain. After that," She paused, and pointed at the mage, "He yelled at me."
Her mother turned to the mage, "You yelled at her?"
Before the man could get a word in, the blond spoke up, "Yeah he did."
"Stay out of this Kaveh"
"Why? It wasn't you who got punched." The boy retorted, crossing his arms.
"You disrespectful-" The man raised his voice but was interrupted by the woman.
"That is enough," her mother berated, effectively quieting the mage.
"Now, to resolve this, darling, apologize to him." She pointed at Kaveh, who gave her a questioning look.
"Why does she have to apologize? She proved me wrong, so it's fine!" He grinned at the girl, making her smile in return.
Her mother blinked, but started to laugh as she shook her head in wonder, marveling at the young boy's reasoning.
"Since that's been resolved, who wants ice cream?" She cheerfully asked, receiving yells of joy from the pair.
"Wait, you can't do that-" The mage spluttered as the woman walked out of the room, a child holding each hand.
. . .
She and Kaveh were inseparable after that fateful day in the mage's office, and where one was, you could always find the other close behind.
They would always hang out at each other's houses, playing around or drawing something of the sort.
Kaveh was better at buildings and still-life drawings, while she enjoyed drawing animals and people.
(One time they drew the mage as an rotten apple.)
They shared the same art class every year, whether they had sculpting or painting, they got the best grades in the class, which led to many asking for help on different art projects.
The one thing that Kaveh couldn't do, however, was remix a paint to a color he needed. Whenever she teased him about it, he would retort with reminding her about her inability to center a bowl.
Currently, they were walking to a friend's house, can you guess who it was?
Kaveh impatiently rapped on the door, not stopping until it opened to reveal a disgruntled, 15-16 year old boy, about the same age as them, holding a book while glaring at the pair on his doorstep.
