With her head rested against the cool glass of the car window, (Y/N) stared outside of the glass watching the scenery zoom by.
As she stared out the window, time seemed to slow as a familiar building came into view. It was a building where she had taken dance classes. One where she had spent most of her time practicing and having fun.
The building reminded her of good and bad memories. Ones which shaped her to who she was today. The one who had given up her dreams of dance to pursue a degree worth making money in her parents eyes. A child who grew to satisfy the ones she loves.
At the sight of a young girl exiting the theater (Y/N) blinks seeing the (H/C) girl smiling as she skips around, the area around her becoming dark as a spotlight shone on the girl who sparkled brightly. She danced as if the stage before her was her home. As though it was the only place she felt she belonged.
A young boy with red hair raced up to the (H/C) girl who shined brightly on the stage. Brighter than any star visible in the night sky.
He held a small bouquet of yellow and purple flowers in his hands giving it to the dancer.
"You really are an amazing dancer, (Y/N)" His voice echoes in her mind. The girl happily accepted the flowers, grinning and pulling the boy into a hug.
"Thank you Rin" She smiles, tightening her arms around him.
When they had pulled away from the hug. (Y/N) felt her eyes watering at the memory which played before her eyes.
There stood the same two kids, though the atmosphere around them felt different, as though maybe a fight had occurred. The bouquet of flowers she once held were smashed on the floor. A striking yellow and white clashed against the dirt floor as the young girl stared at the boy with pure anger.
"You don't understand!" She cries out stomping her foot on the ground "Everyone supports you, everyone loves the idea of their child becoming a swimmer. A type of athlete that's accepted by society! A sport that's actually considered athletic!"
"That doesn't mean you can't fight for it!" The boy argues back "If anything that should motivate you to work harder to achieve being a dancer! To be able to hold that above those who told you otherwise, you shouldn't care about what others want, it's what you want!"
"I just want to make my parents happy!" She snaps, the truth she held in silencing them both.
No one could say a thing as the words she uttered finally opened up a part of her she kept hidden from everyone. The part of her that tried to pretend she was okay by never stating the truth on how she felt or why she did the things she did.
It was something she never wanted to reveal to anyone. Something she planned to hide forever. To her happiness meant nothing as long as it made those she cared for happy.
When the young girl recovered from what she uttered and did the one thing she knew she could do without faltering. She turned and ran. Ran from the feelings which revealed themselves.
The young girl reached a small area, sitting on a bench nearby and shut her eyes.
When (Y/N) opened her eyes again she was met with quick moving trees. The sight of the young girl she saw was nothing more than a memory. A memory her mind wished to torture her with, no matter if it was all in the past.
She remembered that moment as though it was yesterday. It was that week she declared she'd give up the one thing that made her happy. The one thing Rin constantly supported her with and stood by her side for when her parents and other friends never did.
When the car had come to a stop she glanced at their location, sighing quietly.
Before her was a clear blue ocean which her family had brought her to. Already Rin and the family which was taking him in stood at a spot on the beach. A nice area for them all to rest.
(Y/N) stood by the car door, grimacing at the sand before her. It wasn't that she didn't like sand, but rather she wasn't ready to face any sort of confrontation from Rin. Today was the day she would share the news of moving. Where to? A small town on a beach side of Japan where her dad's job has moved him too.
Taking in a breath she gathers her bag, shutting the door behind her. Staring down at her feet she watches as they take each step closer to the place she wished to be furthest from. When she had seen a pair of feet before her she stopped. Her gaze travels upwards spotting Rin who stared down at her with a smile.
"Hi," He comments, taking a small step back to give her room. There was a pregnant pause between the two before (Y/N) spoke up.
"Hello" She replies, her voice wavering slightly.
"You look tired"
At those words, (Y/N) felt as if her facade would crumble. He always could tell how she felt, and knew her true emotions, even if she tried to hide it. Her eyes drifted to the side to avoid his gaze as she focused on keeping herself composed. The shaking of her hands was hidden by the tight grip she held on the bag. She wished for the feelings which were buried deep inside of her would open up, yet she didn't want him to worry. Nor did she wish to make some sort of scene in public.
Arms wrapped around her, pulling her into a hug which she gladly melted into, releasing a sigh as she did so. Her own arms wrapped around his torso as he rested his head on top of hers. Her hands grasped at the fabric of his shirt, holding on tightly, scared with what could happen if she let go. Noticing the grip on his shirt, his arms tighten slightly around her.
"What's wrong?" He questions in the hug, never faltering in his grip. The adults who had brought the two along were in their own world letting the kids have their time together too.
"I'm leaving," She replies burying her face into his chest "My dad's job is relocating him to Japan."
"How much longer will you be here for?" He asks, pulling back from the hug slightly to look her in the eyes. She stares back up at him, frowning slightly at the question.
"About a week" She replies, pulling away from the hug fully. She readjusts the bag she is carrying, stepping towards the towels which were laid out.
"Then that just means we have a week to make as many happy memories in Australia as we want!" Rin replies. (Y/N) looks over at him from the corner of her eye. It was rare for him to display such a soft side around friends, she was one of the few who got to see all the emotions he held within himself. A small smile made its way to her lips as she paused, staring at the pink and orange sky before them.
"Yeah, I guess it does."
