You woke up quickly when your alarm sounded, jumping out of bed and bolting to your bathroom.
Today is the day!
You left with the Malfoys for the beach in one hour!
Throwing a pair of shorts over your swimsuit, you looked in the mirror and smiled. You didn't look awful, for once.
You shoved a couple outfits into your bag, as well as your wand, some spare sandals, and some makeup.
After zipping your suitcase shut, you grabbed it, and ran downstairs to the kitchen.
"Hi, Draco! Hi, Mrs. M- uh, Cissy!" You greeted them, and they smiled.
"Good morning, Y/n. Would you like some french toast or eggs for breakfast?" Narcissa responded nicely.
"Um... some french toast, please. Only a bit, though." Your smile dropped a bit at the mention of food, but you forced it back on your face. "So, how are we getting there? Will we apparate? Or use a portkey? Or-"
"We always use muggle travel. As disgusting as it is, we're going to a muggle beach, and we don't want anyone to see us appear out of nowhere." Draco interrupted, and you shrugged.
"Oh, well. I've never been to the ocean! Is it dangerous? Is it big? What does it look like?" You could barely contain your excitement, and were about to start rambling off an even longer list of questions when Lucius showed up, startling you.
"Good morning, Cissy. Draco. Y/n."
"Morning!" Draco and Narcissa chorused back, while you smiled a bit. Even though he had never hurt you, he still made you nervous.
"Why don't we start packing up, hm? Draco, take Y/n to the car, please. The elves will get your bags."
You hopped out of the chair and followed your friend to the front door. When you opened it, there was a black limousine sitting in front of the Manor.
"Wow... you guys ride in this?!" You said in awe.
"Uh, yeah. And this year, you do too! Climb in!" Draco exclaimed.
The door to the limo opened itself, and you stepped in. The walls were lined with black leather couches, some of which had seatbelts. There was a TV on the wall, and a divider opened to show the driver's seat, in which a goblin was sitting.
You took a seat on one of the couches, and Draco sat across from you, buckling in. "You have to buckle for the first part." He told you. "It's my parents' rule, sadly."
You searched around for a seatbelt, but you couldn't find one. "Um, where are the seats that have buckles? There isn't one here."
Draco smiled. "There's one here, here, and there." He pointed in turn to the seat next to him, then the one next to that, and then next to that.
"Could I sit next to you?" You asked, and he gestured for you to sit. You plopped into the seat, and pulled your seatbelt around yourself.
Just as your buckle clicked, Narcissa and Lucius entered the limo, sitting across from you and Draco. "Okay, let's get going!" Cissy said excitedly.
The door shut, and the goblin pulled the limo away from Malfoy Manor.
After plenty of non-eventful conversation, you ended up feeling drowsy. Cars always do this to you. You leaned back in your seat and closed your eyes, hoping to get some sleep.
Draco's POV
Y/n leaned against the back of the seat, resting her eyes shut. She must be tired, especially after what happened at her house. I can't imagine how she would ever be able to feel safe being asleep, if she's constantly worried about being beat up.
She sighed, and her head fell onto my shoulder. I tensed. What do I do!? I looked at my parents for help, only to find them both holding in their laughs.
Of course they find this amusing. Here I am, sitting rigidly in the seat, with my friend (who I might or might not have a crush on) asleep on my shoulder. And they were laughing.
My eyes were wide, and I stared helplessly at my dad, who smirked and threw his arm around Mom. She then turned to him and they started their own conversation, completely ignoring my... situation.
Suddenly, I realized what my dad was trying to tell me. I gently put my arm around her shoulder, and she hummed in her sleep. I smiled.
She looks so peaceful when she's asleep... and really pretty too- Wait, what? No! I can't think that! We're friends. I'd never get a chance with her.
Y/n's POV
You opened your eyes to find your head against Draco. You flushed red and sat up immediately, whispering an "I'm sorry" before reaching to fix your hair.
The limo was stopped at this point, and you looked around at the other people in the vehicle. Narcissa was grinning at you. Lucius nudged Draco's knee, smirking, and Draco was as red as a tomato, but smiling nonetheless. What happened that was so amusing?
"Okay!" Cissy's voice pulled you out of your thoughts. "Let's head out!"
The door to the limo pulled open, and you followed Lucius out, with Narcissa and Draco right behind you.
You grabbed Draco's hand out of excitement, because if he didn't hold you back, you knew you'd go running off into the waves.
As you turned the corner, a sight that belonged in paradise showed itself to you.
A beach full of white sand awaited you, with bright blue waves crashing onto the wet shore, creating a bit of thin foam. The expansive water stretched out as far as you could see, and then even farther. There were a few seagulls flying around, pecking at something in the sand, and muggle children chased them. There were teenagers tanning, and adults drinking, and kids splashing in the waves.
"It's beautiful..." You managed to get out.
"Yeah." Draco said from beside you; he was still holding your hand. "C'mon, let's go!" He pulled you to where Narcissa and Lucius had set up an umbrella and chairs with magic, and you threw off your shorts.
"Can... can we get in the water?" You looked to Draco.
"Yes! Let's go!!" He snatched your hand again and took off towards the ocean, leaving you with no choice but to follow.
