Chapter 18

We finally made it back home and it was early in the morning. We got out of the wagon and everyone went into the house and we all went to sleep. 

Later when I got up Daron and Tracey were at the house. I could hear them talking to ma about our trip and asked her how it was.

I got nervous because I knew that any time now Daron and Tracey were going to find out what we had been up to and I wasn't ready for the fireworks that were about to happen. 

I walked into the kitchen where they were and Tracey came to me and gave me a hug and asked me how I was feeling. I said I was good and I went and got a cup of coffee.

I looked around and asked ma where Mica was. She said that he left to go and get the stuff like we had discussed. I nodded my head and took a sip of my coffee.

Daron looked at me and ma and said “ ok out with it. I know you guys want to talk to us or you wouldn’t have sent Jay after us.”

Ma looked at me and told me to go to the barn and get pa and to tell the girls to stay outside playing until she called them in. 

I sat my cup down and went and got pa. He saw me coming in and asked “ is it time?”

I just nodded my head and turned around and headed back to the house. I saw the girls playing and told them to stay outside and no matter what they heard, they were not to come into the house until either me or ma came and got them. They looked at each other but they said ok and continued playing.

When pa and I got into the house ma was sitting down in the livingroom and Daron and Tracey came to the room when they heard us coming in. I looked at pa like do you really need me here or can I go. But he gave me the look that said “ your staying”

Ma told Daron and Tracey to sit down. And as we all were about to sit the front door opened. I jumped up thinking that it was one of the girls and was about to tell them to go back outside but then Jay, Pam and Mica all walked in. I was so relieved that I wasn’t going to have to tell them everything by myself.

Now that everyone was in the house we all sat and Mica started talking before anyone else could say anything.

He said “ ok I need you two to listen to everything that we say until the very end. Don’t interrupt or ask questions. You can ask once we're done telling you what we have to.”

Daron looked at Mica like he didn’t know who he was. He was used to being the one that barked orders but here was Mica barking orders to him. 

Mica started telling them everything. The more that he talked the more Daron was getting visibly upset and Tracey's expression was changing too

By the time that he was finally done. Daron was standing by the window looking out. You could tell that he wasn’t looking at anything. And Tracey was just sitting there with a blank look on her face.

We sat there waiting for one of them to say something. But we were scared to say a word because we didn’t know how Daron was going to react.

Finally Daron turned around and said “ so this all started when you both were in your comas? But you both saw the same things? How is that possible?”

We told him that we honestly didn’t know and that we’ve both tried to figure that part out.

Then he said “so Mr Wilson killed you the night that Mica died but since you had actually only passed out and slipped into a coma after pa told you that Mica had died, he didn’t actually kill you?”
