#39 Birthmarks (Part Two)

"Do you want to talk about it?" Remus sat on the floor next to Pandora and opposite Regulus. Regulus lifted his head up,

"What do I do Remus? He's completely oblivious to my existence, there's no way this can be right"

Remus looked down at Regulus' arm, still unable to see what the tattoo looked like. He thought back to how nonchalant James acted towards Regulus, there were no flushed cheeks or nervous speech, he was just his regular self.

"Hey it's not like he doesn't notice you, the fact he brought up your tattoo to me meant he was thinking about you"

Regulus sat with his head in his hands, mumbling back without looking up, "stop trying to give me false hope Lupin"

Remus and Pandora just stared at each other, neither knowing what to say because neither one of them could understand. Pandora stroked Regulus' hand and turned to Remus,

"Maybe he's just hiding it well, I mean his best friends brother? That's not exactly something you see everyday"

Remus nodded, "I don't know I feel like James would've told at least someone about it but maybe you're right"

The three continued to sit in the Slytherin dorm together and talk until Regulus felt somewhat better.

On the other side of the castle in the Gryffindor common room things were beginning to get slightly heated as James questioned people's odd behavior.

"Hey Sirius"

"Hey James"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah sure go for it"

"You and Regulus-"

Sirius looked up with a slight eye twitch, he knew James was a flirt and he was more than ready to throw hands if James was about to ask if his brother was single.

"You and Regulus are close now right? Like you know everything about each other, brotherly bond and all that good stuff"

"Yeah we're working on it but I feel like we've gotten the important things out of the way, except his favourite colour he won't say just to spite me"

James grinned, "it's lilac and sage green"

"How do you know?!"

"I asked him"

Sirius flayed his hands about and shook his head, "whatever why are you asking about him anyway?"

"Oh right, I just noticed his tattoo and was wondering if you guys had gotten them together because Remus was telling me he didn't give it to him so"

James' voice became a ringing in Sirius' ear as he tried to process the words James had said to him. Sirius turned around and smacked James on the back of the head who fell backwards, landing on the couch.

"You want to fuck Reggie?!"

James put his hands up in surrender, "I mean-"

"JAMES"

"I'm joking!! Merlin why is everyone acting so strange about this, first Regulus then Remus and now you? It's a bloody tattoo I wasn't going to go tell Dumbledore about it"

Sirius then calmed when he realised no one had told James what the tattoo meant and that he was genuinely just confused as to why people kept running away from him when he mentioned Regulus.

"What did the tattoo look like?"

"I don't know, I didn't get a good look at it because Regulus kind of ran off but it looks like a snake or dragon type thing? Honestly it would make sense if it was a dragon because, you know House of Black but I thought you guys would've wanted to forget that place"
