"Good luck, Shinso. "
"Huh? Why?"
"Well, the other students are from the hero course and have experienced things like fighting."
"I'll be fine. You helped me learn how to do basic fighting."
"I guess." Midnight came up on the stage and was going to start the process of starting the game but Ojiro interrupted her.
"Excuses me. Sorry, but I'm withdrawing." Everyone let out a gasp. I rolled my eyes. I heard him and a few other kids talking about it. I heard Ojiro something. "I think it was the guy's quirk."
"Shit. They might figure out your quirk." Ojiro explained why he wanted to withdraw.
"At least that means we don't have to go against him." Our other teammate walked up, too.
"Nirengeki Shoda. I think I should withdraw for the same reason, regardless of how strong I am. This isn't how I wanted to get here. It would go against the values of the festival to advance without earning my spot." Midnight withdraws the two of them from the tournament. Midnight explains that now we need two more people to fill in their place. A girl from Class 1-B I'm guessing spoke up.
"You should choose from the group that kept fighting the whole time, team Tetsutetsu. I'm not doing this as a favor. It's just fair." They figured out the people moving on and midnight put them on the board. Once everyone got their places, they looked at the board. Kirishima and Testsutetsu got paired up. They both got angry. I looked at where I was. Shinso was standing next to me. Midoriya stood next to Shinso. I looked at who Shinso was going against.
"That is you right? Izuku Midoriya." Midoriya glances at him. "A pleasure. So, you excited?" Ojiro walked up behind Midoriya. Midoriya was about to say something before Ojiro's tail covered his mouth.
"Not so fast." Shinso started to walk away. I glanced at them and turned to follow Shinso.
"He knew about your quirk." I caught up to him.
"Do you know who you are going against?"
"Yeah. Some girl named Ashido."
*10 minutes later - Sports Festival Stadium*
The match started and Shinso was up first. He and Midoriya walked up to the platform that Cementoss created. The first started and Shinso started talking to Midoriya. Midoriya responded to him and Shinso took control of him. Shinso said something to him and Midoriya started walking towards the end of the platform. When Midoriya was about to step out, he stepped right in front of the line and caused a huge gust of wind. Midoriya started gasping like he ran out of breath. Midoriya started heading towards Shinso. Shinso kept trying to get Midoriya to talk but he couldn't. Midoriya started pushing him. Come on, Shinso. Remember what I taught you. Shinso punched Midoriya in the face but he kept going. Shinso hit his fingers. Midoriya stumbled closer to the edge. Shinso tried to push him out but Midoriya grabbed his arm and flipped him over his shoulder and out of the line.
"Shinso is out of bounds! Midoriya moves on to the next match!" I watched as Shinso got up and they walked to the middle of the platform. Present Mic went onto the speakers. Shinso said something to Midoriya. I spotted a couple of times Midoriya responded and Shinso took over him. I got up and walked over to the end of the stands.
"Good job, Shinso!" I turned and saw some of our classmates cheering him on. Many commented on how well he did.
"Good job, Shinso. The heroes are saying a lot of good things." He spotted me and smiled. He rubbed the back of his neck.
"I guess I need a lot of improving."
"Just get your ass up here to watch." He smirked and kept walking.
*Few minutes later - Same place*
Shinso sat down next to me.
"We did well. You just need to get better at combat."
"Yeah. I panicked a bit so I forgot my training." I shook my head.
"Whatever. Let's watch the next match." We looked down at the platform. It was Todoroki vs. Sero, another student from Class 1-A. The match started. Sero taped up Todoroki and swung him towards the edge of the arena. Shoto froze the ground and shot a huge ice structure toward Sero, trapping him in solid ice. It made the entire stadium shake like it was an earthquake. Of course, he did. Let me guess something pissed him off before the fight. The match ended. I sighed and fell back in my seat. I'm not surprised. Todoroki has a powerful quirk that he knows how to use.
*Around 30 minutes later - Shinso' POV*
Akane left a while ago for her fight. One of the fights ended fast while the other was like a commercial. I laid back in my seat. I heard Present Mic over the speakers. I shot up and looked down to see a pink girl and Akane walk out. Suko Akane vs. Mina Ashido. Let's see how this plays out. Ashido was stretching while Akane was watching there. Present Mic told them to start. Akane threw a spear at Ashido but missed. Ashido slid around on the concrete. Akane threw spears at her but Ashido blocked them or destroyed them.
"How did Akane even get there if she isn't even doing that well?" I turned and spotted the student.
"That's the thing. She could win if she wanted to. Her quirk can be used to capture an enemy and she is good at combat. She isn't trying but faking that she is." He turned towards me.
"How would you know?" I turned back to the battle.
"On the first day of our training together, she easily got me on the ground. Of course, I wasn't as good then but still, it took her a split second to get me on the ground."
"You have been hanging out with her too much." I rolled my eyes and looked at the battle. Ashido kept pushing and using her quirk to keep her in line. Have I been hanging out with her too much? I should focus on moving into the hero course. I looked back at the battle.
