Genevieve's POV

"Merry Christmas!" Simone cheered as we walked into the kitchen, dishes in hand. Our families have gotten quite close over the past couple of months and we are extremely grateful for the Kaulitz family.

They opened up their hearts and home to us without hesitation. "Frohe Weihnachten!" (Merry Christmas!) My mother cheered and Simone's smile grew wider, as if that was possible. "Your German is amazing, Claire!"

"Danke," (Thank you) My mother said, bringing her into a hug. "Genie!" I turned my head after hearing my name followed by footsteps and was attacked in a hug from Bill. "How do you say Merry Christmas in French?"

"Joyeux noël," (Merry Christmas) I replied and he smiled before repeating it, but doing an awful job. "Good try," I said with a smile. "Where's Tom?" I asked. "Coming, Your Highness," I heard him say from the hallway and I looked over Bill's shoulder to see him.

"Gordon, would you mind helping me unload the gifts from the car?" My father asked Gordon and he nodded before following him out to the car. "How have you been?" Simone asked my mother. "Counting down the days until I can go back to work!"

"Where are the twins?" Bill asked and I glanced into the living room. "They've made their way to the video games," I answered and we both laughed. "As long as they stay out of the way."

"Bill," Simone said. "If you want to learn how to make my cheesecake, I'm going to start it now." Bill grew excited and quickly made his way over to his mother's side. "How about you, Tom? Do you want to watch?"

"Nah, I can just have Bill be my personal chef in the future," Tom said while shrugging and Bill scoffed. "Yeah, right," Bill said sarcastically before turning his attention back to his mother.

"Do you need help with anything, Mère?" I asked my mother and she shook her head. "Nope, I'm okay, love bug. Go find some way to entertain yourself." My mother said with light laughter and I glanced over at Tom who flashed me a smile.

We both made our way over to the stairs and to his room. I practically threw myself on his bed as he shut the door. "Let's listen to music or something," I said as I got into a seating position.

"Sure," He said with a smile as he came over to grab his phone. "What do you want to listen to?" He asked and I shrugged my shoulders in response. "I listen to pretty much anything. Surprise me."

His smile grew before he sat down next to me, scrolling through his phone. Once he finally decided on some music he sat his phone back down in its original spot.

"So," I said awkwardly. "How long does your mom's cheesecake normally take?" I asked, not knowing what else to talk about. "Usually twenty minutes, but I'm sure with Bill asking a million questions it will take longer."

I smiled while laughing at his comment. "I love your smile," He said quietly. "Right," I said, unconvinced. "I'm serious, Genie." He said, his tone changing. "Really?" I asked as I raised my eyebrows. "Really." He confirmed with a smile and a nod.

"Tom," I said softly and he raised his eyebrows for me to continue. I wanted to be straightforward and ask him what the hell he was doing with someone like me, but I decided against it.

He hummed in response to my silence and I shook my head slowly. "Never mind it," I mumbled. "Everything okay?" He asked and I smiled a little. "Yeah," I said. "Everything is just fine."
