Tom's POV

Bill and I sat on either end of the couch watching a movie when I heard his phone vibrate on the coffee table. "Who's texting you?" I asked him.

"God, you're nosey," He mumbled as he leaned forward to grab it. "Genie," He told me once he took a second to read her message. "She said to come outside."

"Come outside?" I asked, watching him pause the movie and toss the blanket to the side. "Why doesn't she just knock?" I asked as I went to stand up.

I followed him to the front door just before he opened it. "Well, shit," He said quietly. "What is it?" I asked, pushing him out of the way.

I smiled when I saw her leaning against her car which was parked at the end of our driveway. "Guess who got her license?" She shouted with a wide, proud smile as she held her driver's license high.

"Let me see," I said as I walked past Bill to her. "Oh, no," Bill said, pretending to sound worried. "What do you mean 'oh no'? I'll have you know I passed with flying colors," She said, pushing herself off the side of her car.

As I reached for the card in her hand she snatched it back. "No, I look awful," She said quietly. "You never look awful. Let me see," I insisted and she rolled her eyes before reluctantly handing the card to me.

"Instructor must've been cracked out," Bill joked and she rolled her eyes. "Why don't you just find out for yourselves?" I paid no attention to their conversation as I stared down at her license photo. She never had to try and look perfect, she just does.

"And go where, exactly?" Bill asked with a light chuckle. "Anywhere our hearts desire," She answered as I handed the card back. She walked over to the driver's side and opened the door.

"To the mall?" Bill asked with his eyebrows raised and she nodded with a small smile. "Yay! I need to get changed. Can't be seen like this," He finished, looking down at his pajamas.

"Do you need to change as well?" She asked, looking over at me after Bill went back into the house. "Are you trying to say I look bad?"

She rolled her eyes. "Shut up, you know that's not what I meant," She mumbled and I chuckled. "No, I'm good. Unlike Bill, I actually put on clothes today. I just need to throw shoes on real quick."

Genevieve's POV

As I watched Tom walk back up to the porch and go back into the house I got into the driver's seat, waiting patiently for them to come out.

As I waited I tried to find a radio station that wasn't currently on a commercial break. I sighed after each station I skipped through.

"Hey!" I jumped, placing my hand on my chest as Bill appeared just outside my window. "Shit, I didn't even hear you coming," I said through laughter.

"That was the point," He said with a smile before getting into the backseat. "Where's Tom?" I asked. "He said he was just going to put some shoes on."

"Put shoes on? He told me he needed to change," Bill said just before the sound of a door closing caught our attention. We both turned to look toward the house as Tom was locking the door.

"And who is he trying to look good for?" I joked. "You, obviously," Bill mumbled before leaning back to put on his seatbelt. "Huh?" I asked, turning my head to look back at him.

"You heard me," Bill said with a smile just before Tom opened the passenger door. "In the back where you belong, I see," Tom said as he got into the car. "It's safer back here."

"I am not a bad driver!" I exclaimed, looking at Bill through my rearview mirror. "Like I said, to be determined," He said before going on his phone.

I rolled my eyes and chuckled before putting the car in gear. "Oh, shit," Tom grabbed onto the door and center console, bracing himself. "Will you both shut up? Do you want to go back there with your brother?"
