Y/N and Vernon had been dating for quite some time now. Their relationship was filled with laughter, shared interests, and the warmth of each other's presence. But there was something Vernon had been struggling with, something he wanted to express but found himself tongue-tied each time he tried.
One sunny afternoon, Y/N and Vernon decided to take a stroll through the park near their favorite cafe. The cherry blossom trees were in full bloom, their pink petals falling gently like confetti in the breeze. It was the perfect setting for what Vernon had in mind.
As they walked hand in hand, Y/N couldn't help but notice that Vernon seemed unusually quiet. His grip on her hand was tighter than usual, and his cheeks were flushed with a subtle shade of pink. She smiled and leaned closer, gently bumping her shoulder into his.
"Is everything okay, Vernon?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.
Vernon took a deep breath, his heart racing. "Yeah, everything's great, Y/N," he replied, trying to sound casual but failing miserably. He cleared his throat. "Actually, there's something I've been wanting to tell you."
Y/N stopped walking and turned to face him, her eyes filled with curiosity. "What is it, Vernon?"
He hesitated for a moment, his fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. "Well, you know... we've been together for a while now, and I just... I really appreciate everything about you."
Y/N smiled, her heart warmed by his words. "I feel the same way about you, Vernon."
Vernon nodded, encouraged by her response. "That's great to hear, because... um... Y/N, I've been trying to figure out how to say this, but I guess there's no other way to put it." He paused, his eyes meeting hers with a mixture of nervousness and sincerity. "I love you, Y/N."
The words hung in the air, and the world seemed to hold its breath. Y/N's eyes widened, her heart skipping a beat. She had waited for this moment, but it still caught her by surprise.
Vernon's cheeks turned a deeper shade of red as he continued, "I mean, it's not something I say often, and I know it might sound cliche or cringey, but it's true. I really do love you, Y/N."
Tears welled up in Y/N's eyes, and she reached out to cup Vernon's face, her touch gentle and loving. "Vernon," she whispered, her voice filled with emotion, "you have no idea how much that means to me."
She leaned in, pressing her lips against his in a sweet and tender kiss. It was a kiss that spoke volumes, conveying the depth of their feelings without the need for more words. When they finally pulled away, they were both smiling.
Vernon's awkwardness had melted away, replaced by a newfound confidence. "I'm really glad I said it, Y/N."
Y/N chuckled softly, her heart brimming with happiness. "I'm glad you did too, Vernon. I love you too."
As they resumed their walk through the park, hand in hand, the cherry blossoms continued to fall around them, creating a beautiful, serene backdrop for the beginning of a new chapter in their relationship. It was a moment neither of them would ever forget, the day Vernon found the perfect way to say those three little words that meant the world to them both
