Seated upon his skull throne, Hades observed his checklist to keep his domain running smoothly. As beings of high power, high amounts of work came with their domain to keep everything in check. Whether that be his routine inspection on the fields of golden wheat that coated the plains of Asphodel, checking the lava pits and obsidian spires that filled the fields of punishment, or making sure that the party in Elysium and the Isle of Hero's never stops. His inspections were filled with him doing paperwork while he checked over everything.

His servants had told him many times to leave such menial work to them. They could check over the fields, measure the lava temperature, sharpen the obsidian, and check on the party. Some even offered to do the lord of the underworlds paperwork. It wasn't simple to keep hell running after all.

Sighing as he remembered their constant pestering as he checked through it a final time, he sees he forgot to feed Cerberus his food for the night. It was just beyond the evening time, and Cerberus would be hungry. Sighing, Hades got up from his throne in order to check on the 3 headed dog by the gate, and stop him if he was about to eat some undeserving souls out of hunger.

As he walked towards the gate, his worries intensified as souls were not flowing where they should've been flowing. The roads that the souls followed to be judged or after being judged were completely empty, and Hades worried about the amount of work he'd have to do as an apology to the other gods. Their chosen heroes were sent down here every once in a while because of something or other, so if Cerberus ate them, Hades would have a problem.

However, when he arrived by the gate, Cerberus was there. Not eating souls, not guarding, but instead sleeping. This was a confusing scene to Hades as Cerberus was fierce. Even he had a few close shaves when Cerberus got a wee bit hangry, and tried to eat him. However, he could see within the bundled fur of the sleeping underworld guard, was a small child, and she seemed so peaceful.

Looking around for an explanation, his eyes landed on one of his subordinates who had been staring at Cerberus, fidgeting. The subordinate trembled as Hades lowered his gaze to scan the subordinate, before opening his mouth.

"Explain," that single word flowed out of Hades mouth, and the subordinate only tensed further, before giving a report, not wanting to be sent out to the fields of punishment for not being up to standard.

"Well- You see, A glowing gate appeared out of thin air about there," stuttered the subordinate, pointing to a place with nothing in it, then to the dragging tracks leading there from where Cerberus now lay, "and this girl fell out. Cerberus then left the gate for a bit, and went over to her. When he sniffed the girl, the middle head picked it up, and brought her here. He then curled up and slept with her. He hasn't gotten up since, and ate a soul who tried to wake him."

Hades simply stared at the scene after the subordinate described the events leading up to it. Cerberus was hungry. He could hear the dogs rumbling stomach now that he paid attention. However, instead of eating a meal that had somehow stumbled here through a glowing gate, he picked it up, walked over to his post, and slept with the girl.

Hades, exasperated with Cerberus, walked over to wake the hellhound. Cerberus however, was awake, much to Hades's surprise, and his pained hand. 2 of the heads raised up, and growled quietly, daring Hades to wake the girl unnaturally. The last head flicked its eyes to stare at Hades, but didn't move a muscle since the girl had begun to cling to it.

Dumbfounded, Hades attempted to lure Cerberus with food, but that simply led to Cerberus refusing to move, and snapping at anyone who came even close to touching the girl. Hades eventually called the furies over to deal with this... disturbance. On attempt though, Cerberus kept snapping at them, only shuffling the girl deeper into the fur to protect her.
