///Mattheo Riddle///
The self-proclaimed 'greatest thief of the wizarding world' was reading a book on the floor. An actual book. Not a comic book, not a zine, an actual fucking book. He had fished out 'Secrets of the Darkest Arts' from the wardrobe and was sitting crisscross applesauce in front of the wardrobe. Everything was going to go as planned, he had to make sure of it. First, he had to find out how to destroy these Horcruxes to kill his father, then him and Theo were going to storm Malfoy Manor and get Olivia out of there. Sure, he didn't have to set the place on fire, that was mostly for theatrics. He loved movies, so it was only fitting after all.
He took a chug of his Pepsi can before continuing with his studying. "A Basilisk fang or the killing curse huh?" He spoke to himself, feeling his eyes grow tired. He hadn't slept much that night, he kept thinking about what was happening to Olivia. How could he sleep when she was placed right into the hands of Draco? He would be lying if he had said he didn't start having feelings for her. Maybe it was because she was the first friend that was a girl he ever had. Either way, he wasn't going to confess anything to her. She already had her mind messed with and probably thought she was in love with his evil cousin.
She also had very real feelings for Nott too. He would only be making things more complicated for her if he told her he liked her. He would be her friend first and foremost. The best one he could be. He would start by getting her the fuck out of there. He didn't have a Basilisk fang, that was for sure, but he did know the killing curse unfortunately. He had never used it on a human before, only on animals while him and his mother practiced it. When it came time to actually use it on a human, he chickened out, making his father rather disappointed in him. Maybe that's why he said he failed at making an heir? Mattheo just wasn't cruel enough.
He still felt bad about that rabbit he killed. The rabbit didn't do anything to him. He probably had a rabbit family to take care of. His rabbit wife was probably worried sick when he didn't come back to their burrow. Mattheo was a rabbit murderer.
The sleep he did get last night was short, but he did have a rather nice dream. He was in the same room he was sitting now, only he was a small child. His mother would sit in her reading chair and read to him. He would sit on her lap and touch the shiny black fingernail polish that was always on her fingernails. This was the mother he missed. Sure, she was an evil witch who had killed literally hundreds of people, but to him she was a damn good mother. Maybe once his father was dead, she would go back to how she once was. Sure, she would be sad and angry at him for a while, but she would feel free. Wouldn't she?
In the dream, the furniture in the room had been shifted around. At one time, the head of the bed was turned around in front of the window and the wardrobe was...He paused for a minute, trying to remember where the wardrobe had once been placed. He looked around the room. She once had a small bookcase here and the wardrobe was on the other side of the room, closer to the door. He stood up, pulling his wand from the waistband of his pants. If his mother took the time to hide the dark arts book in here, who knows what else she had stowed away.
He walked around the area closer to the door, inspecting the space. Yes, the wardrobe had once sat here, he was sure of it. There was probably nothing here, but it couldn't just be a coincidence that he had that dream. He hadn't really thought of this room in years, so why now? There had to be something special about it. He flicked his wand over the area. "Revelio." He spoke, seeing a small object under the floorboards glow a bright blue. "Bingo." He said triumphantly, stepping on the floorboard. A small creak could be heard, meaning that the wood was loose. He flicked his wand again, prying the loose wood apart. The nail holding it in place had flown across the room and the hole in the floor was now present.
