Saturday was chilly and Sidra would have never stepped foot outside had it not been for her agreement with Sirius, which she was sorely regretting as she stepped onto the pitch and had her scarf almost blown away by the vicious wind.
Despite her body's protests, she mounted her broom and met Sirius in the air, discussing that one would play Keeper and the other Chaser, switching between positions every few minutes.
Sidra had the unfortunate luck of arriving after Sirius and thus had to play as Keeper for the first round, a position she was admittedly bad at. The game went on for a while and Sidra was becoming impatient.
"You're acting like you were just hit by the Slowing Charm!" Sidra called as she guarded one of the hoops.
"I'm biding my time," Sirius replied, hovering nearby.
Sidra huffed and watched a few students pile out of the building to catch the rays of the sun before they were covered by clouds again. It reminded Sidra that despite it being the weekend, she still had prefect duty. It was one of the joys of being such a wonderful student - you got stuck with responsibilities while the rest of the school was allowed to enjoy their free time. Slughorn would not be impressed if he stepped outside and saw her playing Quidditch instead of attending to her prefect duties.
"Sidra!" She spotted Marina waving at her.
She refocused just in time to see the Quaffle fly straight past her head and into one of the hoops, earning a round of cheers from Sirius and several younger Gryffindors who had stopped to watch the practice.
"Guess that means I'm the better player." He chuckled as they dismounted their broomsticks.
"Oh, shut up. You know I was distracted. And..." She added, beginning to march over to where Marina stood. "There's a reason I'm not a Keeper."
Marina tapped her foot impatiently. "Could you walk any slower!" She yelled and raced to where Sidra was instead of waiting for her. "Look, I'm in a hurry to see McGonagall but Regulus wanted me to remind you about the prefect meeting."
Sidra blanched. "I am so late for that!"
"I'll never understand the appeal of being a prefect and having to meet with teachers on a Saturday," Sirius smirked.
Marina looked him over and grimaced before turning back to Sidra. "You'd better hurry, he won't like it if you are late because you're hanging out with... a Gryffindor." She said and ran off, her pink hair flowing behind her. Sidra knew Marina had meant "his brother" not a Gryffindor. She was by far the most accepting person in Slytherin. Houses didn't matter to her.
"Who wouldn't like it? Sluggie or my brother?" Sirius snarked.
Sidra shrugged. "No idea and I don't want to find out. Thanks for today." She called, swiftly making her way back to the building.
"Finch!" Sirius called after her. "Rematch, soon?"
"Definitely."
The door to Slughorn's classroom whipped open as soon as Sidra touched it and to her surprise, Regulus stepped out. He seemed to be the only prefect around.
"Don't tell me I missed it." She groaned, leaning over to catch her breath. She had run all the way from the grounds to the dingy Potions classroom in the dungeons.
"It wasn't anything too important." He muttered and looked her over. She flushed under his gaze and hoped her hair wasn't too much of a mess. "You look really hot for such a cold day."
Sidra wished he had meant she was physically attractive but the slight accusatory tone in his voice led her to believe otherwise. "I ran here."
"Where were you? You missed breakfast."
