(Y'all, this is the chapter, I'm so sorry 😭)

"Whoever named board games had the right idea, let me tell you that, 'eh?"

We had played about four rounds of 'Guess Who', and we couldn't be any more bored, It did help that we were able to insult the characters though. What were they going to do, stand up for themselves?

"I know.... uhg. Does your character have weirdly Shrek-like ears?"

"No, unfortunately. Does yours have a nose shaped like a rubix cube?"

"Yes! It is very rubix-cubed-shaped now that I look at it."

This same conversation happened for ages, until someone only had one person left on their board, and then both of us lost, because funnily enough we weren't playing the game right. We finished another round, and Sam stood up from the cold, hardwood floor we were sitting on, walked over to his bag, and got out his water bottle.

I got up a few seconds later, standing across from him. I stared at his hair, it was knotted and shaggy.

"Does your person have hair that looks like a rats pubic hair?" His water bottle fell from his mouth without hesitation, and he had a disgusted look on his face.

"Well at least- i-"

"I'm just too handsome, you couldn't insult me. But fine, I'll compliment you instead," I learned closer to him, "does your person have baby blue eyes?"

He turned a bit pink, and looked down at his bag. Sam kneeled down, trying to avoid me, but I grabbed his collar and gently pulled him up to look at me.

The rest of his dress shirt rode up, being much to small for him, to show the top elastic ribbon of his underwear.

Sighing, he rested his hands on mine, and pulled them down, then gave me a salty smile. "Fine then. Does your person have the style of a mafia boss?" He looked down at my clothes, realising that now was probably not a good time to be calling my style anything but 'middle-aged man'.

"No," I replied.

"Uhg, FINE. Is your person so ripped that they could get any girl that they'd like?"
I watched his eyes lock with mine as he made the flattering remark, and I smiled.

He smiled back, and I subconsciously moved closer to him, and raised my hand to the wall, sort of trapping him against me.

"Colby...?" Sam spoke gently as we floated together. I heard him, I just didn't listen, moving closer so that our noses were glididng across each other.

His breathing was slowing down, and his face started going a shade of rose pink, but he didn't seem nervous, just impatient, waiting for the next move.

I learned in closer, and our lips grazed the other's. It was quick, nothing more than lips touching firmly, but it felt good.

A tingle ran down my spine as I kissed Sam. He tasted like vanilla, and I thought that it was a reflection of him.

He didn't try to pull away like I though he would, but let me, if not helped me kiss him.

I never really paid attention in English, but if I could describe him, and the whole experience in one way, it would be, 'sweet'.

I'd be lying if I said that the fact his shirt was so tight didn't have an influence on my decision to kiss him.

I pulled away slowly, and tried to look him in the eyes, but Sam just stared off to the side. I didn't realise it until that moment, but I wasn't breathing, so when I finally remembered, my breaths were deep and heavy, like his were. His face didn't go that bright pink, and he didn't stutter, but I could tell that he was more embarrassed then ever. Sam scrambled for his bag when I took a few steps backs, letting him free from wall-prison, and he flung it on to his back, giving me a quick stare, and sprinting out of my bedroom door.

I didn't chase after him, the guilt that was swallowing me stopped me. I hadn't asked him, and it was, I'd assume, both of our first times kissing someone of the same gender (despite the school rumours about him), so the fact that I just did it would've been a horrible experience. Me of all people should realise that, you've been assaulted yourself, Cole.

When Sam looked at me, his eyebrows were creased, but he didn't appear sad, just confused and a little bit angry.

And I was even more angry at myself.
